Inspiring Conversations with Edward Acevedo of Eddy’s Motel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Edward Acevedo.

Hi Edward, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Our story began 09/12/2024 when Eddy & Jeff were looking to invest into a business. Jeff comes from owning 10+ restaurants over his career and Eddy comes from 7 years of working in the medical field. As two people from the “hospitality field” we felt like we could create a unique and special motel that caters to all type of travelers.

We started off blind as a bat. Neither of us ran a motel or hotel prior so we experienced a lot of first, repairs and surprises. We successfully remodeled all rooms and the grounds within our first year and have been busier than all get out. We’ve been blessed to open our doors to all of our neighbors during the Ice storm last year.

It’s been a lot of work and many late nights but we have received awards, great reviews and return guests. Which makes this all worth it.

Our future is limitless and Eddy looks forward to growing and helping the community more and more.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was not a smooth road.
We dealt with all rooms needing remodeled.
Our crawl space needed $30k in repairs.
Our walkway and bridge needed a lot of love and care.
Many contractors doing crappy work.
We even had a few neighbors dislike us when we first moved in.

Have you ever done remodels during the winter? It was cold and hard work.

We’ve been impressed with Eddy’s Motel , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
You should know off the bat: Eddy will go above and beyond for his guests. Does not matter time or whatever it is from: Inflating guests tires, to chauffeuring guest to weddings, he even does guests laundry when they need. He’s pulled guests out of ditches, has waived several guests bills that have hit hard times.
We believe everyone is important and loved.

When you come to our business you are family. You will be treated with respect, empathy and 5 star hospitality.

We are different than other small motels because here you are family. We will give our coats to those who need.

We specialize in your comfort. From taking care of luggage, to turn down service, fire pit prep, restaurant lists and any special request needed.
Our motto: Stay, Relax & Repeat.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The biggest quality that has helped us succeed is: community. We believe it takes a village to raise a child/a town to raise a barn.

Our characteristics are many from being perfect placed in the center of wineries, ski resorts, wedding venues and so much more. We are crossed the street from the beautiful lake charlevoix and invite our guests to enjoy the lake in our peddle boats or tubes.
