Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Danner.
Hi Mark, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I had just left a job at a health food restaurant in another part of town. Then by a strange twist of fate I ended up at a bar / nightclub; peddling very much the opposite of healthy fare…
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Yes, I’d say it’s been relatively smooth. But as it happens I started one week before the 2020 lockdown. Obviously unable to host large crowds we had to pivot a bit; and at that time sold food and cocktails (at a strictly limited capacity) to our guests. For a time food was the prime source of revenue; and now going into 2026, we no longer even serve food!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work alongside bartenders and security staff to ensure the safest and most fun experience for as many people as possible. I’m proud to have seen the business grow over time; becoming more and more popular. I’ve even had seemingly random people come up to me on the street and tell me they were grateful for the experience of which I was a part. That tends to be equally a source of pride, shock and mild disconcertion. But, yeah, it’s nice.
What’s next?
I try not to think too much about the future. Possibly I’ll move somewhere down South at some point? It’s a very pretty region.
