Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlin Bailey.
Hi Caitlin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve wanted to be in the wedding world for as long as I can remember, truly, since I was about 13. Something about that iconic JLo wedding planner energy just stuck with me. In high school, I started working at a florist, and that’s where my passion really took off. I loved connecting with brides, hearing their vision, and then getting to figure out how to bring it to life in a way that felt magical.
When it came time for college, I was convinced I’d open my own flower shop, so I dove into the business courses… until accounting decided otherwise. After failing Accounting 3 twice, I switched majors and stumbled into the Recreation Department at Central Michigan. I had no idea I could actually earn a degree doing what I loved, planning events and working directly with couples.
After graduating, I worked in guest services and security at Ford Field while also working with various wedding vendors and managing multiple venues. Those years were where I gained the bulk of my real-world experience, the fast-paced problem-solving, the behind-the-scenes coordination, all of it.
By 2022, I knew it was finally time. I wanted deeper relationships with couples, more creative ownership, and the ability to be fully involved in both the design and logistics of a wedding day. And that’s when Bunny & June was born, a dream I’d been chasing since that very first JLo movie moment.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly, I feel incredibly fortunate. Of course there are days that feel tougher than others, and even certain seasons that bring their own challenges, but overall my experience with Bunny & June has been overwhelmingly positive. I think a lot of that comes from my personality. I love to learn everything I can before taking a big leap, and that is exactly how I approached launching my business. I spent ten years after college learning from vendors, venues, coordinators, and entrepreneurs so I could truly understand the industry before stepping out on my own. That preparation made all the difference and set me up to succeed.
We’ve been impressed with Bunny & June Events, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Bunny & June Events is a full-service event coordination company based in Metro Detroit. We specialize in full-service design and planning for couples, and we also offer month-of coordination for those who have most of the details handled but want a professional to bring everything together. While weddings are our heart and soul, we also support clients with other celebrations throughout the year.
What truly sets us apart is the experience we create for our couples. From the moment we start working together, our goal is to bring a sense of calm and clarity to the planning process. Our couples often tell us that we immediately put them at ease, and that is something I am incredibly proud of. I want people to know that wedding planning doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. It can be joyful, creative, and full of moments you’ll actually want to remember. Bunny & June exists to make sure you feel supported every step of the way and to ensure your day looks and feels exactly the way you’ve always imagined.
How do you define success?
I believe success is something we each define for ourselves. For me, it comes down to a few simple questions. Am I genuinely happy? Do I love the life I’m living? Am I spending my days doing work that fulfills me? When I look at where I am today, the answer to all of those questions is yes, and that is what success looks like to me.
