Hi Tammy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
For more than 20 years, planning and decorating events has been one of my greatest passions. There is truly nothing more rewarding than seeing guests’ faces light up the moment they walk into a space I’ve designed. Watching their reactions—the surprise, the joy, and the appreciation for the atmosphere created—continues to inspire the work I do every day.

After many years of decorating events for friends, family, and clients through word of mouth, I made the exciting decision to establish my own company and fully pursue what I love: transforming spaces, elevating celebrations, and creating moments that make people smile.

As the business has grown, so has our inventory. We now offer a wide selection of high-quality rental items to help bring each event vision to life—including specialty décor pieces and our popular phone booth equipped with audio phones, a guest favorite for leaving personalized messages and adding a memorable interactive touch.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to turn this passion into a profession. Bringing someone’s vision to reality—whether it’s a wedding, a milestone event, or a special gathering—is one of the most meaningful parts of my work. Every event is a chance to blend creativity, detail, and heartfelt intention into an experience guests will always remember.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have certainly been challenges along the way, but they have truly been good challenges—ones that have pushed us to grow in all the right ways. When my husband and I first began discussing the creation of Moments & Memories – Events, Rentals & More, our initial plan was simple: start small with a single phone booth for the audio guestbook side of the business. At the time, audio phone booths were a relatively new concept, and we genuinely weren’t sure whether the investment would pay off.

Before we even received our LLC paperwork back, we decided to list the booth online “just to see” if there might be a little interest. We assumed that by the time the business was fully established, we might have a couple of inquiries waiting for us. We were very wrong—in the best way possible. Almost immediately after the listing went live, our calendar began to fill, weekend after weekend, with reservation requests.

The rapid growth brought its share of growing pains, but those hurdles have turned into some of our greatest blessings. They pushed us to expand faster than expected, refine our processes, and truly embrace the exciting momentum behind our business. Each challenge has ultimately strengthened the foundation of Moments & Memories and reaffirmed that we are on the right path.

What’s changing in the industry?

I think the demand for personalization, uniqueness and immersive experiences is becoming more of a trend.

Guests and hosts are increasingly looking for events that feel custom — not cookie-cutter. People want their weddings, parties, showers, and celebrations to reflect their personalities, values, and stories.

Decor and rentals are moving toward more bold, creative and expressive setups: think dramatic lighting, statement backdrops, themed décor, custom props, interactive features.

I also think there is a growing popularity of intimate gatherings and “micro-events.” Clients are focusing on quality over size and investing more in décor, experience, and meaningful touches.

There’s a broader cultural shift where people are increasingly comfortable renting items rather than buying them — even for special events. Shared-economy values, flexibility, affordability, and environmental consciousness all feed into this trend. This shift supports the demand for rental-based décor, props, specialty items, and more.

I want to stay ahead of the curve: embracing new trends, adding unique rental items, adapting to new event formats, and continuing to grow our business in ways that align with evolving client desires.
