Hi Alaina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The highest commitment two people can make deserves a commitment just as strong from their photographer. That is why I am a wedding photographer — to help couples preserve the memories of the best day of their lives for the legacy that they will leave with future generations. I wasn’t always a wedding photographer. I started out as a camera assistant working on TV and commercial sets in Detroit, but I found that I wanted to work more directly with people and make a larger impact on the lives of those people. Wedding photography is an heirloom that holds so much meaning and lasts forever. So for the last three years, I have been serving Michigan wedding couples, delivering true-to-color imagery to those who value legacy.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Many photographers start their business because they love taking photos, being creative, and capturing memories. The business side to being a wedding photographer involves a lot more than just those three things. Thankfully, I have been fortunate to know many other business owners and entrepreneurs, as well as had the means to invest in coaching, so that I can continue to improve and deliver an above-and-beyond client experience — because a wedding is too valuable and precious to not give it my utmost care and greatest efforts.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Wedding Photographer in Michigan delivering true-t0-color imagery for elegant couples who value legacy. My wedding couples feel taken care of with a clear plan of their day and gentle guidance (rather than over-direction, forced moments, and rushed timelines) — just intentional guidance when needed and space for real moments to breathe. This type of care and client experience doesn’t end after the wedding day is over. It continues at gallery delivery with true-t0-life imagery that provides a timeless look, rather than trendy look that grows old, so that they feel proud to display and print their wedding photos for generations.
What makes you happy?
Spending time with the people who mean the most to me is what makes me happy. So I understand the value and importance of having memories with those loved ones captured. That’s why my clients can trust that their wedding day will be captured truthfully and entirely. The people who surround us make up our story — that’s why couples will find candid photos of their friends cheers-ing or their aunt’s belly laugh during speeches in their final gallery. Because it transports you right back to the happiest moments.
