Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca (Becky) Turner.
Hi Rebecca (Becky), it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have been a full-timemiddle school and high school counselor for a very long time. In addition to being a school counselor,in 2020, after working for a couple local counseling agencies, I decided to go out on my own. This was a great decision as I am able to do my own billing, marketing, And I am the solo therapist. This offers me a lot of flexibility with my hours. I feel super blessed to be able to work with my beautifully diverse clientele. I do online and in person appointments. And while it’s part time now, I’m hoping that it will go more full-time once I retire from education in the next several years.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
After doing the initial work like setting up my LCC etc.,it became somewhat complicated getting credentialed with different insurance companies. But once that was figured out throughout the first year, it’s been smooth sailing.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Well my webpage is at counselingnow.net. I am set apart from others because I enjoy working with children, teenagers, and adults very equally. I also have been through a lot of therapy in my life, and I think that gives me a unique perspective. I have been in recovery from alcoholism for 38 years, and I think that also gives me a unique perspective on addiction. Blooming Life to me represents the fact that we are all constantly blooming. And if we are not, we can be. I believe in every individual’s innate ability to know what’s right for themselves and to heal. It is just thatat times we humans need a little bit of guiding and someone to help give clarity.
How do you define success?
Success and it’s definition has changed for me over the years. To me success is when I can fully feel peace. It Is being a responsible citizen wherever I may live. To me, my greatest successes are my three amazing children who are 32 years old, 31 years old, and 27. And indirectly, my three grandchildren with two more on the way.🙌
