Today we’d like to introduce you to Jissel Gonzalez.
Hi Jissel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I was 19 years old I grew a passion for music .. I never thought a day in life that writing music would become apart of my everyday living . I dint even think I had it in me and it wasn’t until I was 19 in my living room playing with beats on YouTube on my huge radio . Blasting Beats writing and pouring my feelings out on a piece of paper . That was around the time that Covid-19 came in everyone was locked up in their house eating , bored and with family & since then history begun . Also my cousin started writing and composing and he inspired me to write Music . As of today I not as far as where I would want to be yet but I will get there some day god willing . However iam proud of everything I have accomplished & this is only the beginning of more to come
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would be lying if i said it has been an easy road . Since I started writing music , networking , meeting different people , going to the studio , performing , showing people what iam about it has been bitter sweet . I have met people that love my work/ business , people who see potential in me , people that have put me out there & helped me here and there as well as people who take my work as a joke & have taken me for granted People have made false promises , have disappointed me and have failed me but I have kept pushing forward persevering towards my Goals & Dreams.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Iam an artist / composer / creative director / social media creator & model . I specialize in writing music and content creating . Iam known as Janni J – the artist & model people always refer to me as “ the model” because I take nice pics and post them on social media . The most thing Iam proud of is my abilities to balance work , career, personal life & social life . It is not easy to carry on that weight of having to be there for everything although iam not perfect I make sure I show up and show out . Iam also proud of my self because I have not given up despite the bumps on the road , iam consistent, I think big and I don’t limit my self , I take risks because my motto is “nothing in this life is impossible to achieve as long as you put your mind to it “ . what sets me apart from others is my perseverance ,the amount of creativity I have in me, my kind heart & my Drive . I know who iam , where I want to go & who I want to be and that’s what’s beautiful & different about me
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My advice to those who are doing music or are in the music industry or even have a business , job or career is to never give up despite the challenges that might come along the way . To always have discernment & be careful who you do business dealings with , because not everyone has your best interest at heart . Educate your self on whatever passion you have so that no one can tell you 1+1=2 . Because when you know what you’re doing you get far . The only thing I wish I knew when I started out is knowing who not to do & who to do business with . The only reason why I say that is because am dealing with the wrong people can set you back & delay your purpose / Goal . But keep pushing because what’s for you is for you
