Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Wager.
Hi Rachel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Photography was something I was interested in for a long time. My mom bought me my first camera in 2018. A Canon EOS 80D. That is when my interest became a hobby that made me feel happy and how I began to turn it into a fine arts business.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Photography is never easy. It takes a lot of hard work, commitment, and patience. Life sometimes can get in the way. You just have to make time for yourself, and your passion.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I love capturing landscape, flowers, animals, scenery, etc. I love capturing fine art photography that can be hung or put on mugs, pillows, etc. I am most proud that I will do just about anything for a shot. I think that is what sets me aside from others. I have laid in the middle of a Downtown Detroit street to get a certain angle for a photo because that was my vision and I am always determined to make sure I capture the vision that is in my head.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories is when my friend’s and I would ride our bikes around our neighborhood in the Summer, and just be kids. Laugh, race, and stay out until the street lights came on. That is how we knew it was time to get back home. No cell phones were there to distract us.
