Inspiring Conversations with Te’Asia Jordan of Rooted Thinking LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Te’Asia Jordan.

Hi Te’Asia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story is unique but very similar to so many others I know who have found a way to achieve their dreams or their goals. I am originally from Muskegon, Michigan, and I came to the Grand Rapids area to study at Grand Valley State University. I left high school thinking I was going to be a music teacher because I loved teaching, and my passion for music was my source of joy. However, I quickly learned that becoming a music teacher was not the “right” answer for me. Through a series of part-time jobs in early childhood education, the “right” learning experience exposed me to the complexities of education, socioeconomics, and opportunity. I had a preschooler, whose mother was working three jobs to help her cancer-stricken mother, avoid my phone calls for thinking it was another negative report, learn that her sister, who was the babysitter one night, had her home raided while her son was there. Sister’s boyfriend was caught up in some things, but it was impacting the nephew’s (my student’s) ability to focus and stay quiet during rest time. That particular experience changed my life because it wasn’t about me being a pre-school teacher that day; his mom needed community, support, and access. She was only 24 at the time, and I was 22. She was too embarrassed to say that she needed help, and she was worried about what consequences may happen for things being so out of balance in her life. At that early age, I knew that it wasn’t her “fault” per se, but it was her and my opportunity to work together to find a way. My desire to shift the way I “helped” changed everything for me. I wanted to become a woman who helped others “find a way” when things seemed almost impossible.

Women wear so many hats, and we endure so many different things while we just “keep it pushing”, or we just “keep going”. Deep down, though, I am learning that most of us have mastered suppressing our heartaches, or we don’t see how to make time to deal with the things that we may be quietly or privately grieving. The worst I have seen thus far- are the women who are in denial that those moments, those difficult moments, aren’t real, or they aren’t heavy on their hearts. I have never met a mother who didn’t worry for her children or want the best for them, but I have met mothers who carry the heartaches of yesterday that carry negative influences on how they manage their present-day lives. I have met women of influence who care for groups of people–whether they hold a leadership position in their families or at their jobs– be stuck in a similar cycle where their past negatively guides their present, and they don’t see a way to the peace and the confidence they desire. My speaking platform is curated for these types of women– high-achieving, high-capacity, women, who need a transformative strategy for overcoming the hidden heartaches that influence the way they show up. Each time I speak, I help them to see themselves as the key to unlock themselves in a way that leaves them feeling confident, capable, and aligned with who they are and why they CAN do what they previously thought wasn’t possible.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course not! The road to greatness or achievement, rather, is the one that is less traveled because the challenges are plenty.

The first struggle was for me to live through what I now teach. I had to go through my own three-step system I developed, and I had to really engage with myself at a critical level to see change. I had to admit that there were many times I was hopeless and unhappy.

Last year, though, I heard Myron Golden speaking on his YouTube channel, and he said something so simple, yet so profound, and it really transformed my thinking. He explained the difference between a “determining factors” a “contributing factor” to our lives. Hearing his explanation, it invoked my thoughts around which moments-which situations were actually “contributing factors” for my life, and which ones were my “determining factors”. That internal dialogue changed EVERYTHING.

For example, I was raised in an environment where being a woman was a determining factor to why I had a limit on me. My faith practice said it less and less, but it was assumed that everyone knew that women were beneath men. In this internal dialogue, I challenged myself by asking myself, “Did God say that?” Because my search in the Holy Bible did not reveal that it was God’s original intent when He made the wombed-man, I decided that my womanhood would be my “determining factor” from the way God intended it, and the way I was raised to be a “contributing factor” to how I unlocked myself. That conversation helped me see how “culture” had so much influence in how I was perceiving myself, and how I saw certain challenges. My perceptions of my challenges enhanced and amplified the weight of some of my struggles, too.

I can also share that the next biggest challenge outside of the mindset shift was my time management. I have been becoming this iteration of myself all while becoming a wife, bonus mom, and terminal degree holder. I had so many things going on at one time that I had let a lot of things drop, including my physical health and daily routines. There is so much power in being boring and consistent! Losing the sight of how valuable that is really became a hinderance as I was getting back on track, but now it is my joy to watch myself re-invest into my schedule.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Rooted Thinking LLC ?
My work sits at the intersection of identity, emotional healing, and confident leadership. I founded my company to serve the women who look successful on paper but carry a quiet heartache under the surface — the woman who has mastered functioning, performing, and showing up for everyone else, but hasn’t always had a space to be whole herself.

What I do is simple: I teach women how to transform their hidden heartaches into confidence in three simple steps.
My framework, the ABC’s of Transformation™, helps women finally answer the three questions that have shaped their confidence since girlhood: Was I enough? Was I seen? Was I safe to be me?

I specialize in emotional clarity, identity rebuilding, and confidence restoration. I’m known for creating environments — whether on stage, in workshops, or through my upcoming books — where women can exhale, feel seen, and learn how to lead, live, and love from a healed place.

What sets me apart is the way I blend strategy, sophistication, and anchored presence. I don’t just inspire; I teach. I give women structure and language for things they’ve felt their entire lives but never knew how to name. My work honors both the woman and the younger version of her who learned to hide her hurt in order to survive.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that my work is both practical and deeply transformative. It’s not fluff. It’s not hype. It’s a framework that women can return to again and again as they navigate leadership, motherhood, relationships, confidence, and identity.

I want your readers to know that my brand is committed to helping women reclaim themselves. Whether through my speaking platform, workshops, digital resources, or my upcoming children’s book series, my mission remains the same: to help women heal, become whole, and show up confidently in every space they’re called to influence.

Because when a woman heals, her home heals — and the community around her rises.

Any big plans?
The future of my work is rooted in expansion, depth, and service. I’m in a season where the seeds I’ve planted — in leadership, identity development, faith, and emotional wellness — are finally maturing, and I’m building intentionally for the women and children who will be impacted next.

Professionally, I’m expanding my speaking platform to reach more women who are high-achieving on the outside but carrying quiet heartache on the inside. My goal is to partner with organizations, conferences, and communities that are ready to have real conversations about emotional health, confidence, and leadership. I’m also building out my signature framework, the ABC’s of Transformation™, into courses, workshops, and digital resources so women can access this transformation no matter where they are.

Creatively, I’m incredibly excited about the launch of my children’s book series, Three Broken Stones. It’s a social-emotional learning series designed to help children develop confidence, identity, and resilience — the very tools most of us adults had to learn the hard way. The series will be accompanied by a resource guide for parents, teachers, ministries, and community leaders who want to reinforce healthy identity from an early age.

Personally, I’m planning for a future where my work continues to serve both the woman and the child within her. I want to build programs, partnerships, and platforms that strengthen families, not just individuals. That means more writing, more speaking, and more intentional collaboration with organizations that align with my mission.

Big changes? Absolutely. I’m leaning fully into the vision God has given me — a future where healed women raise confident children, stronger homes, and healthier communities. I’m looking forward to expanding my impact and creating resources that not only inspire women but equip them to transform their lives from the inside out.
