Check Out Savanah Sheets’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Savanah Sheets.

Hi Savanah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My best friend Shane and I took a trip to Orlando, FL for Disney in May of 2015, and while we were there we played an escape room. We fell in love! (With escape rooms, not each other.) Everyone assumes we are married but we are just best friends of 20 years. When we came home we saw there was a huge opportunity in Michgan, and more importantly our hometown. We were the third company to open in Michigan and beat other surrounding larger cities, like Kalamazoo, Ann Arbor, and Lansing. This put Jackson on the map for immersive entertainment in Mid-Michigan.

We didn’t have a large budget to start a business or build Disney caliber sets like we saw in Orlando, but we used creativity and ingenuity to inspire the same feelings in our guests that we experienced in the “million dolllar” escape room design that made us such enthusiastic believers in the industry.

Since then, we’ve created more than 12 unique escape experiences! Our escape rooms transport you to different places, challenge you to see what is hidden in plain sight, test your ability to unravel mysteries, force you to rely on others, and make you feel things, escape the mundane and experience your best life. We are still escape room enthusiatsts and have played over 300 of them around the country, and are proud of our entreprenuership over the last 10 years.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In the begining it was tough, we had a new “big city” idea and it felt we needed to convince everyone we could make the idea successful. Finding a space to lease, getting funding, etc, was a challenge. But our passion was convinving, and contagious.

One mindset we noticed was that people associated escape rooms with horror and assume that all escape rooms are scary. On the contrary. we have designed silly, colorful, and most of all fun games to show people escape rooms don’t have to be like the movie Saw.

Like any new industry, we spent many years educating the public about what we offer and how it’s unique from the many other escape room companies that popped up in the following years.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
There are a few things that make us standout and that our customers appreciate. Firstly, we design all over our own puzzles, our entire team brings different talents to make our imagination come to life. Our games vary in theme and difficulty. We can accomodate up to 32 people in one hour within our four rooms. Choose from a whimsical camping excursion, a festive christmas adventure, an intergalatic space mission, or a creepy haunted attic. All of our games are private experiences so you are never forced to play with strangers, all of our games only require a group of 2 to book.

We also offer a mobile escape experience that allows you to be your own Game Master. You can rent it by the week, making it perfect for a house party or corportate team building.

Our 4,000 sqft building allows us to host large parties, featuring a conference room and kitchen for catering.
Over the years we have seen an increase in bookings for kids birthdays and our conference room is a great space to rent for celebrations.

What’s next?
Our future plans are to keep creating unique escape experiences! We are already planning our next few escape room desgins and are always excited to challenge ourselves creatively with every new game.

Also, we recently added board game and trading card game sales to our space! We love escape rooms and gaming so it seemed like a pretty natural expansion. We carry board games, Pokemon, Magic the Gathering, Disney’s Lorcana, One Piece, Union Arena, and other similar card games. We are working on growing our gaming community and hosting weekly card game play and tournaments. Our goal for 2026 is to have a fully shopable store online and at our location.
