Rising Stars: Meet Kyle Dupuy of Downtown Detroit

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Dupuy.

Hi Kyle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I went to University of Michigan for undergrad and to Wayne State Law School for my law degree. I’ve lived in Detroit since 2000, watching the City evolve from the shell that it used to be back into a world class city. I started my practice in 2017, servicing the Metro Detroit area, with a focus on Detroit.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Yes, there were struggles early on. Starting your own law practice is a daunting task. It was difficult to make ends meet for the first few years. But, over the past three years, the practice has been thriving, picking up more and more clientele as time goes on.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Dupuy Law Firm, PLC first opened for business in 2017. Since that time we have serviced hundreds of clients, with an impressive track record of success. A focus of the practice is on real estate, including commercial and residential landlord/tenant, lease and land contract preparation, quiet titles, and border disputes, and commercial land sales. We also do business startup, commercial business transactions, and business dissolution and disputes. The firm also has a focus on entertainments law, handling dozens of trademarks over the years, as well as venue rental agreements, artist agreements, licensing agreements, agency agreements, and equipment rental agreements.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
As a law firm, we are naturally risk averse, as we are charged with diligently and ethically handling client matters. However, leaving my job at an intellectual and real property firm and starting my own firm certainly was a risk. It ultimately paid off, as I no longer work for someone else.

Pricing:

  • Landlord/Tenant Evictions: $750, plus fees
  • Quiet Title actions: $1,500 and up, plus filing fees.
  • Contract Preparation: depends on the subject matter and scope, but prices start at $500 and go up
  • Single Member LLC Startup: $750.00
  • Civil Litigation/Breach of Contract, etc.: $2,500 and up
