Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Michael.
Hi Morgan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am really not sure if we are discussing business or personal journey, but I guess my story began as the daughter of a single mom. We moved a lot growing up, I switched schools more than most, experienced a lot of hardship, but also so much joy. I can attribute my ability to adapt easily to this, I am sure.
I started working when I was 12yrs old. I’d say the entrepreneur bug bit me at a young age and I was kind of raised in an environment that fostered that drive in me as I had uncles who were Realtors and my grandfather had a moving business started by his dad in 1932.
I moved to Nashville for a short stint, to pursue a singing career not too long after high school. I had a lot of fun and met a ton of people – many lifelong friendships were forged in that time, but upon becoming pregnant with my 2nd child, my husband, at the time, decided we needed to be closer to my family, so we made the move back to Michigan. Looking back, it really was the best decision for our family. Our children were able to grow up with their cousins close by and now with my mom gone, it’s those relationships that are the closest – what a blessing.
After surviving an abusive marriage, I remarried in October of 2020. In that timeframe, my husband and I have healed together, and we’ve been blessed to guide others to healing as well. We’ve also grown our perspective businesses, sold a business, and have started a couple new businesses and continue to dream about the next phase of our lives together. We are true blue entrepreneurs and dreamers, and we have so much fun together!
I work full time as a Realtor®️, he works in our ice cream shops in the summer, he does taxes in the winter and spring, and woodworking in his spare time. We have some big dreams and plans in the works for our businesses and look forward to how God is going to move us toward these goals.
At the center of everything, though, is God. He brought us through life’s challenges. He brought us together, and He is at the center of our marriage, our home, our businesses and professional lives. We owe it all to Him.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Ha! Did I mention there were hurts? Many many hurts along the way. I survived some pretty traumatic stuff in my childhood, carried those hurts into my adulthood which led to several failed marriages, lots of trauma and abuse, and more financial difficulty than I ever let on. There was a time where my kids and I were living off of fruits from a friend’s orchard. Just what we could pick from the trees. Leaving an escalating abusive partner was incredibly challenging, and attempting to help others navigate our broken judicial system was exhausting. Now losing my mom suddenly and facing ancillary challenges from that has been my most recent road. Definitely not a smooth road, but one I am able to navigate with God walking beside me

We actually own several businesses. We have The Frosty Cove and The Beach Cove, ice cream shops, we also own Mor2 Tax Services, Morse Michael Woodworking, and Morgan Michael Properties.
The Frosty Cove and The Beach Cove serve the best ice cream on the Lakeshore and we are constantly commended on our crew’s friendliness.
Mor2 Tax Services specializes, of course, in tax services and tax planning. Morse offers extremely personalized service and doesn’t let anyone leave his office without understanding the numbers and how they play a role in the final result
Morse Michael Woodworking is a new venture. Morse wanted something to keep him busy between ice cream season and tax season, so he took up woodworking and is having a blast. Website coming soon, but every product is made with detail and love.
