Inspiring Conversations with Danielle (Dannie) Dolce of Hidden Bliss Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle (Dannie) Dolce.

Hi Danielle (Dannie), it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey began in 2008 when I was diagnosed with Lyme disease. After my second rounds of treatments that stretched over two years, I found myself taking 39 pills a day, getting blood work every 90 days, and still not feeling any better. My immune system never fully recovered, and my symptoms didn’t improve. Eventually, I made the decision to stop treatment and begin learning what my body truly needed to heal focusing more on a Holistic approach.

During that process, I discovered yoga. At first, it was simply a way to help relieve my physical pain and stiffness. But it quickly became something much deeper. I remember attending my very first yoga class at a small local studio that offered evening sessions. I cried during that practice — not because I was in pain or needed help getting off the floor with a chair, but because my soul knew I was exactly where I was meant to be.

After a year and a half of consistent practice, yoga had transformed my life. I lost 100 pounds, regained strength and confidence, and began teaching as a Yoga Apprentice at that same studio. It became my second home — my safe space and sanctuary.

When the world shut down in 2020, the studio closed its doors, and it was heartbreaking to watch the owner lose her dream. But it also lit a fire in me. I knew I needed to create a safe space of my own — one where healing, peace, and community could always be found. I transformed an old room in my home into a personal yoga space and named it Hidden Bliss. I chose that name because, at the time, bliss felt so hidden in my life — but I was determined to cultivate it again.

Soon, the yogis I had practiced with for years began asking to join me. I started going live on Facebook in the mornings and hosting small outdoor practices in the park. When the weather turned cold, I practiced in the basement of my workplace — and that’s when Yoga with Dannie was born.

I never charged for those sessions — I’ve always called them “practices,” not classes — because we’re learning and growing together. When my community insisted on giving donations, I decided that every dollar would go back into building our future home. Every bolster, block, mat, strap, and blanket in the studio has been provided by the yogis themselves. Hidden Bliss Studio was truly built by our community, and it continues to grow because of them.

I made a promise to my yogis when our first studio closed — that one day, we would find a new home. Four years later, after overcoming personal mountains of my own, I received a clear sign: it was time to be brave. I wasn’t even actively teaching at that time, but I followed that nudge of faith — and I opened the doors to Hidden Bliss Studio, our brick-and-mortar sanctuary.

What began as my personal healing journey has become a shared space of love, connection, and transformation. Hidden Bliss isn’t just a studio — it’s a living promise that no matter what we face, we can rebuild, reconnect, and rise again.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but I’ve learned to remember and honor every part of the journey — the beautiful and the difficult — because each chapter has shaped the woman I am today.

There have been seasons of deep challenge: watching the yoga studio that first nurtured me close its doors, walking beside my husband through his mental health journey, losing my father before I was ready, and navigating the stress of owning a small business in an uncertain economy. There’s also been the quiet weight of financial responsibility — building Hidden Bliss Studio from the ground up with no savings, as a one-income family supporting everyone.

When I signed the papers to open my studio, I had just a penny in my account — but I also had faith. I knew I needed to be brave and trust that the path ahead was unfolding for a reason.

Through every obstacle, I’ve learned that courage doesn’t mean having it all figured out — it means showing up, heart open, even when you’re scared. Every challenge has reminded me that purpose and passion will always rise stronger than fear.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Hidden Bliss Studio is not like any other yoga studio — it’s a sanctuary built from the heart, where every person is welcomed exactly as they are.

We understand that life happens — you might be a few minutes late to the mat or arrive carrying the weight of your day — and that’s okay. There’s no judgment here. We support one another on and off the mat, building lifelong friendships through the shared connection of practice. Hidden Bliss isn’t just about movement; it’s about healing, connection, and remembering that you are never alone.

Most people who find their way here are searching for something deeper than physical wellness — they’re looking for peace from pain, emotional healing, or a sense of belonging. My mission is to create a space where they can breathe, move, and reconnect with their inner light.

We specialize in yoga, Reiki, and holistic healing practices for all levels and bodies. Our offerings include restorative and meditation-based practices, sculpt and tone, chair yoga, kids’ yoga, and private sessions. I also offer energy healing and guided meditations, Sound Bowl Meditations, along with the growth of our new virtual platform, Yoga with Dannie, which allows yogis to practice with us from anywhere.

What truly sets Hidden Bliss apart is the community itself. Every mat, block, blanket, and bolster in the studio has been provided through donations from the yogis who practice here. The studio was built by the community, for the community — and that energy of love and unity can be felt the moment you walk in.

Hidden Bliss has also become home to several growing circles of connection:

Sacred Sisterhood is a monthly gathering of like-minded women who come together to share, heal, and grow through intentional conversation, creative expression, and spiritual practice. Each circle focuses on reflection, self-care, and empowerment, creating deep bonds that extend far beyond the mat.

Southwest Michigan Reiki Community brings together Reiki practitioners and energy healers each month for Reiki Shares and Reiki Experiences, offering a space for continued learning, healing, and support for those walking the spiritual path.

Looking ahead, Hidden Bliss continues to expand its offerings — from yoga retreats and online classes to my podcast, Get2KnowAYogi, which highlights real stories of transformation and mindfulness within our community.

Personally, I am continuing to grow as both a teacher and healer. I am currently a Shamanic Apprentice, working toward becoming an Ayurvedic Practitioner, Holistic Healer, and Certified Yoga Therapist, while completing my 500-hour Yoga Teacher Certification. Continuing education is deeply important to me — I believe in always learning, evolving, and striving to be the best version of myself so I can better serve others.

At the heart of everything I do — and everything Hidden Bliss stands for — is connection, authenticity, and courage. We are here to remind people that no matter where they are in life, they are enough, they are loved, and they belong.

What does success mean to you?
For me, success isn’t measured by numbers, followers, or financial gain — it’s measured by the lives touched, the hearts healed, and the moments of peace created along the way.

Success is seeing someone walk into Hidden Bliss Studio carrying the weight of the world and leaving a little lighter. It’s the quiet tears that fall in savasana, the laughter shared in community, and the messages I receive from students who say, “I finally slept without pain,” or “I feel like myself again.”

True success, to me, is living in alignment with my purpose — serving from a place of love, staying grounded in gratitude, and continuing to grow both personally and spiritually. It’s showing up authentically, even when the path feels uncertain, and trusting that every step — even the hard ones — is part of something greater.

If I can continue to create spaces where people feel safe to heal, connect, and remember their own light, then I’m already successful.
