We started Apothecary & Co with one goal — to truly help people. To get back to what pharmacy was always meant to be about: actually caring for people and their health. No insurance red tape. No corporate quotas. No nonsense. Just real people who care.
In the beginning, our focus was on creating custom-compounded medications to meet each patient’s unique needs. We wanted to bring personalization, compassion, and genuine connection back into healthcare — something that often gets lost in today’s fast-paced, insurance-driven world.
After losing her husband in 2018 to a rare cancer, our founder, Hillary, dove deeply into functional medicine in search of understanding and healing. That journey led her to pursue advanced training through the CCN (Certified Clinical Nutritionist) and IFMCP (Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner) programs — blending her pharmacy expertise with nutrition and root-cause care.
Pharmacists and pharmacies have long been among the most trusted members of the healthcare community, and we take great pride in that. At Apothecary & Co, we honor that trust every day by doing what’s right for our patients, taking the time to listen, and providing thoughtful, personalized solutions to support long-term wellness.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Heck no, it hasn’t been a smooth road — but we wouldn’t change a thing. We opened our doors just before COVID hit, and like so many small businesses, we had to adapt overnight. On top of that, we faced major road construction right outside our doors for months, which made it even harder for customers to reach us.
But we’ve always believed that struggles are simply lessons in disguise. Every challenge taught us something — about perseverance, about community, and about staying true to our mission no matter what. Those experiences made us stronger, more creative, and more connected to the people we serve.
At the end of the day, we’re grateful for the bumps in the road, because they shaped who we are today — a team that leads with heart, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping people live healthier, happier lives.

Obviously, my family comes first — they’re my foundation and my biggest source of purpose. Right after that, it’s my business and my customers. I’m always humbled when people trust us with their healthcare; it’s something I’ll never take for granted. Every person who walks through our doors has a story, and it’s an honor to play even a small role in helping them feel seen, heard, and cared for.
Right now, I’m also deeply committed to advocating for independent pharmacies and helping them grow and thrive. These small businesses are the heart of their communities, and supporting them means protecting personalized, compassionate care.
As a practitioner, it’s important to me to meet people where they are, to listen, and to help them connect the dots through a functional health lens. At the end of the day, what matters most is helping people on their journey — and hoping to be a light when they are in need.
