Today we’d like to introduce you to Mandee Collins.
Hi Mandee, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started out as an employee back in 2017. In 2020 COVID shut down all the businesses, including Funtastic. Once businesses were able to open back up, the opportunity to buy Funtastic came about and I took advantage of the opportunity. I loved my job before, and missed everyone, and thought it was the perfect chance to reconnect with the community. We are now a family owned and operated business and just celebrated our 4th birthday this past June.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
When we first opened, we were in the middle of a Pandemic. There were mask rules and mandates we had to follow, and we were sure how to allow the kids to safely play. Shortly after opening, the mask mandates faded, and we were able to open fully. Our road at the time was under construction, down to a one-way street, which alone was a challenge but thrown in the train yard around us…. getting to us was difficult. The construction also caused things like power outages, internet/phone outages, they even knocked out the gas line once. The first year was the best and most challenging. People still fought to get here through it all and supported us through every step.
We’ve been impressed with Mandee’s Funtastic Play Center, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are an indoor playground center with a large soft play area and a two-story padded play scape. With our Open play schedule, we offer a great opportunity to encourage your little ones to interact with others and to make friends in a relaxed environment where children can work together to build, play, and use their imaginations. We offer private birthday parties on the weekends, so families can celebrate with one another while having fun.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I enjoy seeing all the kids come in happy to play, I like connecting with the community and being a part of someone’s special day. Watching the kids grow and learn new things, adults making new friends while here. Funtastic isn’t just a place for kids to run out their energy after a long day at school, or a place to be able to run and play when it’s too hot or cold outside, it’s a place where memories are made, and I’m so happy that we are able to provide that to the community we live in.
Pricing:
- admission prices for open play are $10 for walking children and $5 for crawling. each paid admission can have two free adults. Each adult after is $5 an adult
- We offer three different birthday packages which can range from $350 to $450
- We have a cafe with food, snacks, and drinks for a vartiety of pricing
