Today we’d like to introduce you to John Pilot.
Hi John, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My company, ThermalPros is celebrating its 20th year in business in 2025. My career started in the stock brokerage industry. Straight from high school, I got a job working on a trading desk for Olde & Co in 1987. That lead to a 15 year career in the brokerage industry. But, since i was about 12 years old, my dad, who was very skilled and had a great mechanical mind, had me helping him do various handyman type projects. As a side gig, we started doing more and more furnace and air projects. This is what eventually led me to purchasing a HVAC company in 2003. It was pretty much a failure because I did not understand the business side. That company was sold back to the original owner in 2005. I then started ThermalPros with much better success and here we are 20 years later with more work than we can handle.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Has not been a smooth road. Find employees, dealing with their problems, finding good customers, and having smooth work flow are always challenges
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We install HVAC equipment in commercial and residential applications. Duct work, furnaces, air conditioners, new install and service. We are proud of our fast response and honesty
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Being outdoors with my dad
