Marcus Woods shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Marcus , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I’m not wandering. I’m walking the path God placed me on. Even when it feels uncertain, He’s still leading me exactly where I’m meant to be.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Marcus Woods, an actor, filmmaker, and creative entrepreneur dedicated to creating stories that inspire, challenge, and connect. Over the years, I’ve worked across stage and film in projects like Blind Trust, Depart From It, Finding Nicole, and The Rows, which have reached audiences nationally and internationally.
Through my company, Out The Woods Productions, I help actors refine their craft and brand through custom monologues, workshops, and digital content. I’m also the host of “Monologue Monday with Marcus Woods,” a live podcast that gives artists a platform to share their work, receive feedback, and discuss the realities of the industry.
What makes my brand unique is its authenticity and purpose — everything I do is rooted in faith, discipline, and a commitment to helping others grow. My focus now is expanding Monologue Monday into a full creative network and continuing to build a legacy of storytelling that motivates and uplifts.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
Honestly, my relationship with God has shaped everything about how I see myself. It’s helped me learn to love who I am, appreciate my growth, and recognize the greatness He placed within me.
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
I thought I was being humble, but truth is… I’d lost my fight. Now I move with faith, purpose, and confidence…. that’s real humility.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The industry says there’s one path to success…. truth is, you can build your own lane if you know your worth and stay consistent.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand that success isn’t only built in the spotlight. It takes work, discipline, and relationships — but it’s also shaped by the unseen: your faith, your mindset, and the energy you carry when no one’s watching. Those things play a bigger role in greatness than most people realize.
