Rebekah Spencer HHP on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Rebekah Spencer HHP and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Rebekah, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
You know, every week there’s something that makes me both laugh and feel proud. But recently, what really filled my heart was watching my team celebrate their sales goals. Seeing their faces light up when they hit their numbers — that kind of joy is contagious. It reminds me why I started this business in the first place: to build something meaningful, not just for myself, but for the people around me.

And of course, my husband Mark always keeps me laughing. Whether we’re checking on our bees together or he’s coming up with one of his “creative” ideas for the apiary, he has a way of turning everyday life into an adventure.

Life’s too short not to laugh often, work hard, and find pride in the simple things — like watching people you care about grow, shine, and love what they do.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Rebekah Spencer, owner and founder of Rebekah’s Health & Nutrition, a Michigan-based wellness company with four thriving locations in Lapeer, Lake Orion, Clarkston, and Grand Blanc.

I opened my first store back in 2007 with a simple but powerful mission — to help people take control of their health naturally. What started as a cozy little health food store has grown into one of Michigan’s leading independent wellness chains, known for integrity, education, and heart.

As a Holistic Health Practitioner, I’ve spent nearly two decades studying the body, the power of natural medicine, and the importance of living with purpose. My goal has always been to go beyond selling supplements — I want to empower people to understand their health, make informed choices, and thrive in every area of life.

One of the things that makes us unique is our Rebekah’s Private Label Signature Line — a collection of over 200 premium herbal and nutraceutical formulas made with whole-food ingredients and bottled in amber glass. Each product reflects our commitment to purity, potency, and passion for quality.

My journey has been personal — I’ve faced my own health challenges, and that’s where my heart for this work truly comes from. Healing begins when you refuse to give up. Whether I’m teaching a class, hosting one of our community health fairs, or connecting with customers in-store, my message remains the same:
💚 “Take control of your health, and you take control of your life.”

When I’m not at one of the stores, you’ll find me spending time with my husband, Mark, at our home on Spencer’s Pond, tending to our bees and sharing Spencer’s Honey with the community. I also love to travel — exploring this beautiful world God created and finding inspiration in every new place and person I meet.

My life and my brand are built on faith, resilience, and purpose — and I’m passionate about helping others live the healthiest, happiest version of themselves.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful came during the last 5 years of owning my business. In the beginning, I thought I needed people more intelligent than me to help run it — and while that was partly true, I quickly learned that intelligence alone doesn’t build success.

What I discovered was that drive, dedication, and resilience matter so much more. When times got tough — and trust me, they did — it wasn’t anyone else who pulled us through. It was me showing up every day, determined to make it work, refusing to quit, and learning as I went.

That realization changed everything. I stopped doubting myself and started trusting the woman God created me to be. My business didn’t succeed because I had all the answers — it succeeded because I had the heart and the grit to see it through.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Never! Giving up was never an option for me — not once. There were certainly hard days, and moments that tested every ounce of strength I had, but quitting was never on the table. When you’re called to do something — when it’s part of your purpose — you don’t walk away just because it’s hard.

I’ve poured my heart and soul into this business, and I believe deeply that God doesn’t give us dreams we aren’t equipped to fulfill. There were times I had to dig deep, pray harder, and remind myself why I started — but I kept going because people were counting on me. My team, my community, my customers — they’re my “why.”

I’ve learned that perseverance builds power. Every challenge refined me, made me stronger, and reminded me that true success isn’t about how fast you grow — it’s about how faithfully you keep showing up.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
That’s an easy one for me — our bodies are capable of healing themselves when given the proper environment.

This belief doesn’t always sit well with everyone, especially in a world that’s been taught to look for a quick fix in a prescription bottle. But here’s the truth: there isn’t one single cell in our body that was designed to need a drug to function.

Now, don’t get me wrong — in an emergency, medicine absolutely has its place. If you’re broken, bleeding, or in crisis, we need modern medicine. But for everything else? Healing comes from supporting the body, not suppressing it.

Through nutrition, detoxification, oxygenation, herbs, peptides, and supplements, we can help the body find its balance again. The key is always to look for the root cause — not just manage symptoms. Once we understand that, we unlock the body’s incredible ability to restore itself.

I’ve seen it time and again: when we give the body what it truly needs, it knows exactly what to do.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had 10 years left, I’d stop worrying about things I can’t change — immediately. Worry doesn’t fix a single thing; it just steals the joy from the moment you’re in. I’ve learned that peace doesn’t come from control — it comes from trust.

I’d focus more on what truly matters: nourishing my body, moving it with intention, and enjoying this beautiful life I have been given I’d eat less, exercise more, and say yes to more experiences.

And I’d definitely travel more with my husband and family — see more of the world, and take in all the beauty this planet has to offer. Life’s too short to rush through it. I want to breathe it in, laugh often, love deeply, and make every one of those ten years count.
