Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeanne Quinn.
Hi Jeanne, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I studied Commercial Art at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, before eventually moving to Las Vegas, where I was hired by a music production software company to design their website, product user manuals, packaging, and other print materials. That experience opened so many doors for me — and it was there that I realized I wanted to build something of my own.
In 2002, I launched my own design company, SeeQuinn. To get started, I reached out to one of the client companies I’d worked with previously and offered to design their new website free of charge — on one condition: if they loved it, they’d spread the word. Best decision I ever made! They were thrilled with the results, shared my name with a few online user groups, and before I knew it, the calls started rolling in. I never had to advertise — my business grew entirely through word of mouth.
My first paying client was a major soundcard developer in Germany, followed by a broadcasting and media production company in Wisconsin. Within months, my project calendar was booked out six months in advance — a designer’s dream! Living in Las Vegas also connected me to the entertainment community, and soon I was working exclusively with entertainers and industry professionals. It’s a small, tight-knit world in Vegas, and one referral quickly led to another. Some of my more well-known clients included Louie Anderson, Gordie Brown, Jon “Bowzer” Bauman from Sha Na Na, Westmore Academy in Los Angeles, Oliver Richman, Buddy Hackett (through his son, Sandy Hackett), and legendary songwriter Ron Miller — whose hits include For Once in My Life and Touch Me in the Morning.
Over the years, I earned eleven Electronic Media Awards (EMA), including “Best of Show” two years in a row. My work has also been featured in several online publications, including The Las Vegas Review-Journal and The American Design Awards.
After 12 years in Vegas, I moved back home to Michigan — and wow, it felt amazing to be surrounded by family and the seasons again! My heart was full. Today, while I still work with entertainers, my client base has expanded to include artists, contractors, real estate firms, authors, record producers, energy companies, accountants, medical facilities, and academic institutions. I feel truly grateful to have a full, creative docket that continues to challenge and inspire me. It’s both a joy and an honor to stay continually energized by the amazing people I get to work with.
At the heart of what I do is collaboration — helping my clients tell their stories with authenticity, creativity, and confidence. I love creating designs that truly resonate and leave a lasting impression.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part, yes — though there have definitely been a few bumps along the way! The first real hurdle came in 2005, when my family experienced a house fire caused by faulty wiring. We lost everything. My son was just 13 at the time, and it was an incredibly challenging period. But we were surrounded by love and support from family, friends, and even my clients, which made all the difference. With their help, we were able to rebuild and get back on our feet fairly quickly, though it did take some time to get my work fully reestablished.
Then, like so many small business owners, I faced another challenge during the 2008 recession. Many of my clients were struggling, and business slowed across the board. Even so, I was fortunate — while my calendar wasn’t quite booked six months out, it stayed comfortably full. Looking back, those experiences taught me resilience, perspective, and gratitude. They reminded me how strong community and connection can be, both personally and professionally.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’ve been in the design world for more than two decades now, and I still wake up excited to create. My focus is on graphic and website design, professional logos, and print media — but what I really specialize in is helping people see their vision come to life. I’ve always believed in going the extra mile for my clients, giving them a little more than they expect. One of my favorite things a client ever said to me was, “You’ve inspired me to raise the bar with my business — I need to be as good as my website makes me look!” That one still makes me smile.
What sets me apart, I think, is how personal my process is. The conception stage — that first spark of an idea — is everything to me. I don’t rely on cookie-cutter templates or drag-and-drop shortcuts. Every project starts with a genuine conversation. I ask questions, I listen closely, I take notes on what they love, what they don’t, and what they’re hoping to achieve. Then I take all that insight and shape it into something that feels uniquely theirs.
After 20+ years, I’ve learned that great design isn’t just about making something beautiful — it’s about creating something that works beautifully. My goal is to make every website, logo, or brochure a powerful tool that helps my clients stand out, connect, and succeed.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I’ve learned that design is about so much more than colors and layouts — it’s about connection. When something I create helps someone feel proud of their business or excited to share their story, that’s what makes it all worth it.
