Daily Inspiration: Meet Sherry Gershon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherry Gershon.

Hi Sherry , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
We started with a dream to create an escape room that was more than just puzzles, we wanted it to be a fun, creative, and interactive space where people could really connect. The idea was to get people thinking out loud, working together, and feeling that excitement of solving things as a team. From the moment guests walk through the doors, we want them to feel completely immersed, like they’ve stepped into another world. Overtime, we’ve learned a lot about what makes an experience special and have grown by listening to our guest and constantly adding new ideas. Today we’ve expanded our space to include a small theater where will soon be featuring live shows alongside our escape rooms. The shows aren’t live yet, but Work excited to launch them in 2026!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been relatively smooth since our inception in 2018, except of course for the pandemic! Our Covid times were dark and scary, and we were not eligible for government relief so that was a real challenge.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Me personally, Sherry Gershon, my role is the CEO and the COO. In addition to daily operations, I am also a creative force. I am a seamstress and made all curtains in house, and, in addition, i can make just about any puzzle or prop that my business partner and husband, Todd Birmingham, can think of lol!

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t know if luck has anything to do with this business. Todd and I have made everything happen from the beginning stages. From finding the space, to sourcing excellent carpenters, designing our own website, coming up without the puzzles, I can go on and on! I really do not think there is good or bad luck in the situation, however There is an abundance of passion and hard work!
