Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Angela Harden-Mack, MD.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello and thank you for the opportunity to talk with you! At the very start of my career, I faced a moment that shaped the way I approach my work and my well-being today. In medicine, there’s a lot of discussion about burnout and why healthcare providers are at such an increased risk. We’re trained to care for others, to push through exhaustion, and to put our patients first—but often at the expense of ourselves. I found myself caught in that cycle early on, trying to live up to the impossible expectations of being a “Superwoman.” I was working long hours, hustling for everyone else, and leaving no time to care for me.
The turning point came when I realized that wearing the Superwoman cape wasn’t sustainable—it was weighing me down. I made the decision to let her go. I had to acknowledge that I couldn’t do it all, and more importantly, I didn’t have to. I began to recognize the importance of setting boundaries, of saying no without guilt, and of carving out time to nurture myself.
Letting go of the hustle culture wasn’t just about avoiding burnout; it was about creating a foundation for a career and a life that I could sustain with joy and purpose. I learned that self-care is a necessity, especially in a field as demanding as medicine. You can’t give your best to others if you’re running on empty. By prioritizing my own well-being, I became not only a better doctor but also a better version of myself.
That decision to let Superwoman go at the start of my career has stayed with me. It’s a reminder that taking care of ourselves is one of the most powerful ways we can show up for others.
I am the founder of Live Great Lives Holistic Wellness Coaching and the creator of the WELL Woman Era, a movement dedicated to completely redefining wellness for professional women. My work is rooted in the belief that strength and success aren’t found in self-sacrifice, but in wholeness, vibrant energy, and living from the inside out.
The WELL Woman Era is about shifting the narrative for women—from one of overcommitment, “being strong”, and exhausting busyness to one of beautiful alignment, balance, and vitality. It’s a call to reclaim our power, honor our well-being, and model a new, sustainable way of succeeding—one that nourishes not only our personal lives but also the incredible influence we have in the world.
What excites me most about this work is seeing women step healthy and fulfilling lives—not by doing more, but by aligning their lives with what truly matters to them. It’s about helping them let go of the hustle culture and embrace a life that feels whole, joyful, and deeply fulfilling. Through my coaching, I guide women to reconnect with themselves, prioritize their well-being, and create a life that supports their dreams without sacrificing their health or happiness.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it certainly has not been a smooth road, but I’ve learned that life’s most valuable lessons often come from its challenges. Our society is defined and attracted by the grind of hustle culture, which creates this constant pressure to do more and be more. A major struggle for me was dismantling the unrealistic expectations I had for myself—the idea that I had to be a “Superwoman” who could do it all without ever showing a sign of strain. I also had to confront society’s limiting beliefs that a woman can’t be brilliant, beautiful, and bold all at once. Overcoming these external and internal pressures required a conscious effort to redefine strength on my own terms.
One of the most transformative changes was the discovering and awakening to my feminine energy. This empowered me to understand that true strength includes softness and that it’s possible to lead with intuition, flow, and collaboration instead of just force. This awakening was directly tied to another significant struggle: maintaining my boundaries. The pressure to live up to those “Superwoman” expectations meant I often said yes when I should have said no. Learning to set healthy boundaries was a game-changer. I grew to understand that saying “no” wasn’t about rejection, but about creating the necessary space to say “yes” to the essential things that align with my purpose, protect my health, and bring me genuine fulfillment. Each of these struggles was a stepping stone, teaching me how to build a more authentic and sustainable life.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Beyond my passion for wellness and empowerment as CEO and Founder of Live Great Lives Holistic Wellness Coaching, I am honored to be an award-winning medical doctor, international speaker, and bestselling author. In 2025, I had the privilege of being named Ms. Michigan Corporate America, and I went on to earn the title of 3rd Runner-Up in the prestigious National Ms. Corporate America competition. These accomplishments have given me a platform to further my commitment to inspiring and uplifting women at every stage of their journey.
As Ms. Michigan Corporate America 2025, I have dedicated my year to three key initiatives. First, I champion “wellness beyond the basics,” bringing awareness that women’s wellness is about so much more than weight loss and body image—it’s about holistic health in all areas of life. Second, I focus on “self-care beyond the spa day,” emphasizing the importance of deeper levels of self-care for true rejuvenation and sustained well-being. Finally, I am a passionate advocate for women’s and girls’ empowerment, working to address issues that impact their opportunities, confidence, and leadership. Through these initiatives, I strive to help women discover their power and step boldly into lives of abundance, purpose, and joy.
What’s next?
We are incredibly excited and expectant about the future of Live Great Lives and the WELL Woman Era. Our vision is one of expansion and deeper impact, and we have several key initiatives on the horizon that we are passionately working toward. First, we are focused on continuing to expand our global reach. The message that women do not have to choose between success and well-being is universal, and we are dedicated to bringing our resources and community to professional women all over the world. This is not just about growing a business, but about fostering a global movement of women who are leading with vitality and purpose.
In the next year, we are planning to release several new publications. These books and magazines are designed to be practical, inspiring guides that will help more women integrate the principles of holistic wellness into their busy lives. Alongside these publications, we are thrilled to be developing wellness retreats. These will be immersive experiences that offer a sacred space for women to disconnect from the hustle, reconnect with themselves, and build lasting bonds with a community of like-minded peers. We believe these retreats will be a powerful catalyst for profound personal and professional transformation.
In addition, collaboration is a huge part of our future. We are actively seeking and planning more partnerships with individuals and corporations who share our passion for wellness, women’s empowerment, women in leadership, and corporate wellness. By joining forces, we can amplify our message and create healthier, more supportive environments for women to thrive in all areas of their lives. Each of these plans is a step toward a future where every woman feels empowered to live her greatest life, not by doing more, but by being more aligned, healthy, and whole.
