Exploring Life & Business with Koty And Katie Hatten of Chiropractic House of Vitality

Today we’d like to introduce you to Koty And Katie Hatten.

Hi Koty and Katie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
We are a husband and wife team that shares a passion for health and community. Taking our time to learn and figure out what our true passions and interests are we decided to move to Dallas, TX to pursue Chiropractic. Originally from Kalamazoo, Mi. with the support of our families we took the plunge to move across the country and dive head first on this amazing journey! After four long years away from home we felt God calling us back home to Michigan. Open to all areas of this great state we settled on the traverse city area and found the perfect little spot here in Suttons Bay to open our dream office! Our focus is to serve everyone who comes in with intention, working hard to create a space full of living plants, natural light, and community! Being away from home had its challenges when starting a practice and growing our family, but we can honestly say every person that comes in has become a friend in some way and for that we are so grateful.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting any business from the ground up inevitably has some bumps in the road, but we’ve truly had amazing support. We’ve always worked hard to stay true to the calling God has placed on our lives which has had us look different that a typical chiropractic office. Working mainly off of internal referrals the growth was a bit slower than we expected which had its challenges. We chose to not take out a big start up loan which lead us to working second jobs the first year of practice. This was challenging, but we felt like it was the right thing for us to do.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Chiropractic House of Vitality?

Our goal is to help you live more at ease in your body and to give you the opportunity to express your full vitality. Our clients range from days old to 90 years old. Everyone is welcome and everyone can benefit! You will enjoy longer visits where you aren’t rushed, intentional conversation, and a homey space to unwind and connect back to yourself after a long day. When you step into our office you’ll notice right away we aren’t a typical health office. We want you to feel like you’re stepping into you’re own home. We’ll ask you to take your shoes off, get you a glass of water, and hang out as long as you’d like after your adjustment. We are so proud of the community we have built in these walls of our practice. We’ve seen friends say hi, kids hug their dad after a day away, and everything in between. Our prayer is that you feel right at home when stepping through our door!

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The quality we hold highest is our intention. We have placed so much intention on how people feel when they come in, when they leave, and as they are getting adjusted. There is more to an adjustment than where you adjust, but equally important is the how and when.
