Daily Inspiration: Meet Rachel DenBoer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel DenBoer.

Hi Rachel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Since my teenage years I’ve had an interest in photography, starting out with an old polaride camera that belonged to my parents and then progressing on to my own camera using film, then digital. I love capturing unique angles and looking for that moment “when the light is just right”! I’m self-taught for the most part, along with some guidance from other professional photographers and mentors. I’m always reading photography articles and have an interest in reading about lighting techniques. Natural light is my favorite!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t say that photography is always a smooth road. There’s always things to learn and obstacles to overcome. It’s more than just learning your equipment and how to frame a photo, it’s also knowing how to deal with people and make them feel comfortable.

I love doing adventure/travel elopement’s and family trips. Ready for a Hiking adventure elopement, engagement or family trip? Let’s go capture those happy special memories! I think what sets me apart from others is my ability to give my clients a session that is more than personalized, I make sure my clients don’t feel rushed or like they are just being posed for every photo. I make each session unique to my clients.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I have extensive travel experience. I’ve traveled all across the US and through many parts of Europe. I also love including family pets in photos for my clients!
