Exploring Life & Business with Keith Pearson of Pearson Heating and Cooling

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keith Pearson.

Hi Keith, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Started working for a local HVAC company doing preventative maintenances during the summer while attending school. I received my associates in Mechanical engineering technology and associates in HVAC/R from Ferris State. I then worked for a local mechanical contractor in Grand Rapids as well as an equipment manufacturer as a technician over to course of a couple years before starting my own business in 2021. It has always been a goal of mine to put my name on the work I do as I take great pride in quality work.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As with starting any new business, it was difficult finding consistent work and clientele to keep myself busy.

We’ve been impressed with Pearson Heating and Cooling, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I work as a one man operation, doing service and installation of HVAC equipment of all manufactures for the commercial and residential setting. I have been working in the HVAC industry one way or another since 2010 so I have seen and experienced a lot of different problems and scenarios that really help with my troubleshooting and overall experience. My attention to detail is what I am most proud of and make sure everything is perfect before leaving a customers home. When a customer calls me they get me from start to finish. No pushy sales or extra add ons to get the highest sale, just giving the customer what they want and need. I offer the American Standard line as I wanted to offer what I believe to be one of the best brands on the market; not the cheapest on the market.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
With the increase of efficiency standards and EPA rules/regulations year after year, the cost of HVAC equipment is going to continue to rise to a point to where the average consumer will be priced out of the market. A lot more consumers will have to utilize financing to heat and cool their homes, unfortunately.
