Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachele Evers.
Hi Rachele, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am not sure which way to go with this question. I can tell you that I started my career thinking I needed to find a good job with a pension and good benefits. I was living my life according to the script I had been given – get married, get a degree, get a good job, white picket fence and all of that jazz. I did this, and from the outside it looked perfect. The truth was, I hated it. The pressure of wearing a mask to fit in and check all of the boxes of living a “good life” the way it was sold to me finally got to be too much to bear. I divorced my husband, married a total lunatic (who I thought was exciting at first – my white picket fence life was so boring, I overcompensated and married a very bad man). In an effort to keep it together, I lost everything twice. Ultimately I divorced hubby number 2, started all over from scratch, this time with a recognition that my life was mine to live, and a determination to find my calling and do whatever I had to do – regardless of other people’s opinions about my life. It took years of inner work to get to this point, but the outcome has been true freedom. I own and operate a successful real estate brokerage, I teach yoga as a free offering to the community, I am a Reiki Master offering private Reiki sessions, and am a published best selling author. I hosted a podcast for a couple of years, and have tried and failed enough times to no longer worry about failing at anything. I have a daughter with special needs who is living independently – which we never thought could happen for her – but she’s doing it, and THRIVING. This is a summary of course, as I don’t know which details you actually care about and – because I’ve lived this, I am not quite sure which parts are inspiring.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all a smooth road. 2 Divorces. Lost everything financially TWICE. Many jobs trying to find where I fit in. I got tons of certifications and formal education trying to prove I was “worthy.” I worked jobs I hated for far too long. I stayed in an abusive marriage simply because I couldn’t bear a second failed marriage. I made a lot of mistakes. I lost a lot of money. I struggled and cried and got up and kept going. I did a ton of inner work to try and not only see and understand why I was choosing the things I was choosing, but to break the patterns that I was recreating without realizing that I was doing that. I took full responsibility for the outcomes of my life and from THERE fully have/had the power to effect real change in the world. Change in how I do business and how I relate to people. I learned to forgive myself and magically this expanded into a full forgiveness and understanding of all people. It’s tough to put words around this transformation but It has completely colored all of my interactions with people. I went from being an anxious unhappy control freak to someone who believes in everyday magic. I now deal in miracles in everything I do.
We’ve been impressed with AgentRx | NextHome One, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the brand/voice behind AgentRx, my Real Estate Brand, and Broker/Owner of NextHome One (the Real Estate Brokerage that holds my Real Estate License). What you should know is that I operate all layers of my business with integrity and fiduciary obligation to the best interest of my client in all cases and above all else. I make it a point to educate my clients fully in order to help them make the best decisions for THEIR desired outcome, regardless of how that impacts me. This is shockingly rare in the real-estate industry. The reality is many agents don’t know what they’re doing, and most will push ideas on their clients that are in favor of the agents’ checking account. For example: I make sure my clients are aware of all options: when someone contacts me about selling a house, I make sure we also look at renting as a possible solution, or refinancing if that is an option. I just make sure the client is aware of ALL options on the table AND makes an informed choice regarding their outcome – even if it means no business for me. There are tons of other examples of this, but the short version is that the NextHome hashtag #HumansOverHouses is my guiding principle. Also I operate with the mantra: No Games, No BS. This is what sets me apart from others. I specialize in tangly real estate situations, especially what I refer to as the 3D’s – Divorces, Downsizing, & Estates (Death). What I am most proud of brand-wise has been my ability to marry the energy work that I do with the technicalities of real estate. I am incredibly detailed about understanding numbers/values, and the mechanics of contract language. But I ALSO will sage smudge a house or do a ritual or card reading for a property or contract if the situation calls for it AND the client is into it. Not all of my clients are into that sort of thing, so I honor that as well. I’m intense. I am not everyone’s cup of tea. I am totally fine with that. People who work with me love me. I get results. People who do not vibe with me tend to not hire me, Thankfully.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Let your freak flag fly. Seriously, don’t pretend to be a way that you’re not. How can your tribe find you if you’re hiding behind a fake personality curated for others to find you acceptable? I let my weirdness show so that it’s a beacon instead of an embarrassment. One of my favorite ways to find my people is dropping an f-bomb in a professional situation. I usually tease out my people with this one pretty quickly.
