Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaime Davey.
Hi Jaime, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am a 49-year-old Michigan native and have been a licensed physical therapist since 2002. Having lived locally my entire life, I chose in 2020 to open my own outpatient physical therapy clinic just a mile from my childhood home. With the support of my family, friends, and colleagues, I was able to turn my dream of owning a business into a reality. From a young age, I knew I wanted to serve my community and help others, and my passion for healthcare naturally led me to a career in physical therapy.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like many small business owners, I faced several challenges along the way — especially opening a clinic during a time of uncertainty in 2020. Navigating new business logistics, managing financial risks, and balancing patient care with administrative responsibilities were all learning experiences. There were moments of doubt and long hours, but the support of my family, friends, and colleagues kept me moving forward. Each challenge ultimately strengthened my resilience and deepened my appreciation for the community I serve.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a physical therapist specializing in outpatient orthopedics, with a focus on individualized, one-on-one patient care. At my clinic, every treatment session is tailored specifically to the patient — there’s no “cookie-cutter” approach or assembly-line therapy. I take the time to listen, assess thoroughly, and design treatment plans that fit each person’s unique goals, lifestyle, and recovery needs.
What I’m most proud of is the trust and relationships I’ve built within my community. Many of my patients come to me through word-of-mouth referrals, which to me is the greatest compliment. I’m also proud of creating a clinic environment that feels welcoming, supportive, and centered around genuine care — not just quick visits or numbers on a schedule.
What sets me apart is the combination of personalized attention, clinical experience, and a deep-rooted connection to the community I grew up in. My goal has always been to help people move better, feel stronger, and return to doing what they love — and to do so in a setting that feels personal, not clinical.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is working directly with patients and helping them return to their normal function and quality of life. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone regain their confidence, independence, and strength after an injury or setback. I also find a lot of fulfillment in supporting my team — creating an environment where they feel valued, motivated, and proud of the work we do together. At the end of the day, knowing that I’ve made a positive difference in someone’s life, whether it’s a patient or a colleague, gives me a deep sense of purpose and satisfaction.
