We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ally Paige Mrozek. Check out our conversation below.
Ally, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
There is no path in front of me. There is only a path behind me, one I have created for myself. To wander, is to roam without intention. Each step I have ever taken has been mindful and intentional. I am trailblazing, telling a story that only I can tell and finding the path that only I can see. If one person external of myself can benefit from my endeavors, then I walking in the right direction.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Allyson Paige Mrozek. I am born, raised, and conduct business in Michigan’s Eastern Upper Peninsula. I am the creative mind behind @Daneladybakeco. I am an artist, an entrepreneur, a philosopher, a mental health advocate, a daughter, a sister, and a friend. Through a multitude of mediums I share fragments of my soul and mind. I communicate the unspoken language of the universe, of nature, and of humanity. The essence of myself is in each bite of my edible creations and within each painting in my catalog.
Dane Lady Bake Co. has truly changed my life in every possible way. Saying I am thankful would be an understatement. Creating for others has been the most rewarding experience. Through sharing my passion for art and for baking with the world, I have been able to build a community, small business, and brand.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mother has always been able to see me for who I am, often even before I can. She has been my biggest supporter and the best employee I never hired. My Mom is always there to help me tie loose ends or deliver my cakes when I am too tired to do so myself. My mom will help me do the dishes when I’ve spent 12 hours in the kitchen. My mom has spent hours tying little bows on cake pop sticks just so that it looks nicer. I want her to know that my success is her success and everything she has done for me has not gone, unseen, or unappreciated. Thank you mama. I love you.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, I would tell her to keep her nose to the grindstone and to not give up. I would give myself a hug and I would tell her that I was proud of her. It would probably make me cry, but I would tell myself that even when things are tough, to keep moving. Everything is going to be OK because it always has been and it always will be. I would tell myself to work hard just like I would tell anyone else.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Is the public version of me the real me? I would say yes and no. The expectations put onto people to show their best selves on social media is there whether we like to acknowledge it or not. Instagram filters out all of the struggles and hardships of life. The glimpses of my life and work that I share on social media are all curated. I rarely, if ever share the blemishes of my life with the outside world. Social media can be a toxic environment for comparing oneself to others. I’ve noticed this in myself and how I present to the public world. As social media has made the world a larger place, it’s important to remember you are never seeing the full picture. Even if what you are seeing is truth.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What will you regret not doing?
I will regret not pursuing the loves of my life, my passions, and my goals. Life is not meant to live with regrets, for it is too short. I would have regretted not pursuing Dane Lady Bake Co. which has been a dream since I was 14. Never regret chasing your soul’s calling.
