Check Out Eva Monhaut-Jenkins’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eva Monhaut-Jenkins.

Hi Eva, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into birth work really stems from a lifelong passion for supporting and empowering others. I’ve always been drawn to helping people navigate important life transitions, and after having my own experiences with birth and parenthood, I realized how transformative support during this time can be—not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well. I also remember being fascinated with birth from a very young age. Growing up, I never knew what a doula was until shortly before I had my own son. Working with families as nanny and then in a maternity care home, I felt even more passion to serve families as a doula.

I began my work as a birth and postpartum doula focused on education, advocacy, and personalized support. Over time, I expanded my services to include personalized Childbirth Education courses.

Building Luna Natal Doula Care LLC has been a step-by-step process of learning, growing, and listening to the needs of the families I serve. Today, I’m proud to provide care that centers the birthing person, ensuring they feel informed, empowered, and respected throughout their birth journey and beyond.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I do not have a background in business so learning how to take my care for families and tie that into operating my own business has been a challenge.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I focus on advocacy and truly centering the birthing person in every part of their journey. I specialize in providing personalized support that combines evidence-based guidance with emotional and practical care—whether that’s during birth or postpartum. My approach isn’t just about being present; it’s about empowering clients to feel informed, confident, and fully supported as they make choices that align with their vision for birth and early parenthood.

What makes you happy?
Inside my work: what makes me happy is watching clients walk away from work with them feeling empowered in themselves however their birth or postpartum journey has unfolded.

Outside birth work: My family and my interests in always learning, reading, writing, nature, and weight training bring me joy.
