

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gary B Bailey Sr.
Hi Gary B, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was doing construction work just over 25 years ago and my knees just weren’t holding up any longer, so I decided to look for a different job. I ran across an ad from a real estate company looking for agents. I decided to stop in and talk with the broker and after that discussion I sat down with my wife and formulated a game plan for me to move forward in the real estate business. I got my license in 2000 and sold my first million dollars of real estate in the first 6 months and almost reach 2 million that first year. I moved after several months to a different real estate company and continued to grow year after year. Once I had close to 3 years in the business I decided to become a broker and within a month, my old broker offered to sell me one of the offices I helped him open up, so I could start my own company. I moved forward and it has been 22 years of successful growing the business. I have 7 agents working for me with most of them with at least 3 years with the company up to 22 years with the company. We are a great team and work very hard to take great care of our clients. I think my agents are highly trained and could out perform any other office in the area. We also are very blessed to have our office manager, who the agents call superman because he is always on top of his game and is always pushing them to do more and better work. We succeed because we take care of the client and not the paycheck.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The only struggles along the way are the rule changes that have come over time with our real estate profession from government officials that have no clue how our business works and frankly don’t care as long as they get their piece of the pie. Our fees have gone up over the years, but our commissions have gone down. Now we are an old fashion agency who works strictly on commission and no admin fees of any kind and we are not in bed with a title company as most other offices are these days, so they have much more money to spend on advertisements and buying agents to come to work for them, but we still stand tall and keep up with them because of our hard work and not because we keep dipping into the clients pockets.

I am proud to say we have been in business for 22 plus years and have a great reputation. We have never been a part of a court case because we always do the right job and take care of our fiduciary responsibilities with no exceptions.
What matters most to you?
Our reputation matters most to us. We want people to come back because of the fantastic job we did for them and the experience they had with the process. We cannot always control the other side of the transaction, so sometimes it can get a little rough, because we have to educate the other agent (because the new broker model is asses in the seats and they don’t care if they get trained or not) so we keep a close eye on the other guy, if you will.
