Daily Inspiration: Meet Angela Sauers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Sauers.

Hi Angela, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started doing wedding flowers out of my barn over 20 years ago. Slowly moved into wedding decor along with the flowers, then began planning and styling as well. Now after years of primarily focusing on weddings I decided to pivot on giving shop life a go again and designing upscale arrangements for everyday and other occasions.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I started my business from the ground up with no start up, just one wedding at a time. I eventually got to a place where I was doing 20 to 25 weddings per season. Slowly moving into a couple of my own studios and store fronts. Winters were hard in the beginning since there are rarely any weddings that time of the year, that’s why I moved into planning since I could do most it then.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in floral design as well as events styling. My floral is known for a more loose, organic and fun combination. I love adding all sorts of different foliages and floral elements to arrangements when I can. I also have a love for design and decor. I really love to create things different and original . I think I’m most proud of how that really shows in the boutique now!

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I think looking up to others and learning how they got to be where they are is important. You need to take that knowledge and expand on it and also make your business your own though!
