Hidden Gems: Meet Brock Fletcher of The SELLING Team with Keller Williams Realty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brock Fletcher.

Hi Brock, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The Story of Brock Fletcher
Early Life & Roots

Brock Fletcher was born at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan, in 1977. He spent his early childhood in Charlotte until 1984, when his family moved to Newark, Ohio, after his father, Harry, accepted a position with Rockwell International. In 1989, the family returned to Eaton Rapids, Michigan, where Brock grew up with his parents, Harry and Sandy, and his sisters, Laura and Jamie. Eaton Rapids was where Brock attended middle school and high school, learning the values of hard work, perseverance, and community that would shape his life.

First Jobs & Early Career

Brock’s first job was at the McDonald’s in Eaton Rapids, where he learned responsibility, discipline, and teamwork. His first full-time role came at The Peanut Shop in downtown Lansing, where he gained a deeper appreciation for small business operations and the importance of building personal connections with customers.

At 19, Brock joined his grandfather, Arden Pierson, in the land surveying business. He found the work both challenging and rewarding, and it sparked a passion for property and land that would later support his transition into real estate.

From 1999 to 2001, Brock worked for URS Corporation as a crew chief in land surveying, where he led a survey crew. This role strengthened his leadership skills and required him to balance precision, teamwork, and problem-solving in the field. Brock continued working in land surveying until 2004, gaining nearly a decade of hands-on experience in the profession.

Commitment to Education

Even while working full-time, Brock was committed to furthering his education. From 1995 to 2002, he attended Lansing Community College and Oakland Community College, often taking classes at night and on weekends while balancing his surveying career. In 2002, he transferred to Michigan State University, where he studied finance.

At the time, Brock envisioned a career as a financial advisor. But over time, he realized that his true calling wasn’t in advising clients on investments — it was in helping families and individuals with one of the biggest investments of their lives: their homes. The combination of his surveying background, business education, and passion for people made real estate the perfect fit.

Entering Real Estate

In 2004, Brock transitioned into real estate full-time. He quickly rose in the field, earning his broker’s license in 2006, a credential he has now held for 18 years.

In 2009, Brock joined Keller Williams Realty, where he found a culture that aligned perfectly with his passion for growth, mentorship, and collaboration. This was the turning point in his career — the moment he began building something larger than himself.

Building The Selling Team

Out of that vision came The Selling Team, a group Brock developed around mentorship, training, and a culture of growth. He has always believed that by investing in his teammates’ personal and professional development, the entire team — and their clients — thrive.

In 2022, Brock launched an internship program with Michigan State University, giving young people real-world exposure to real estate and continuing his commitment to mentoring the next generation.

At the heart of it all is the team’s guiding mantra: “Beyond Real Estate, Real Family.” It reflects Brock’s belief that clients should be treated like family, and teammates should be supported to live their best lives.

Life Beyond Business

Away from the office, Brock is a husband, father, and outdoorsman. He and his wife, Katie, have been married for 17 years, and together they are raising their daughter, Jenna. As a family, they enjoy hiking, golfing, exploring national parks, and spending time in Mackinaw City and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Where He Stands Today

Today, Brock Fletcher is a respected leader in Michigan real estate with 21 years as an agent, 18 years as a broker, and 15 years with Keller Williams. His journey — from fast food and small businesses, to leading a survey crew, to balancing work and school on his way to a finance degree at Michigan State, to ultimately discovering his true calling in real estate — reflects his lifelong values of hard work, family, and service.

For Brock, real estate is never just about property. It is about people, family, and helping others live their best lives.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My first 6 years in real estate were very tough. I went through a divorce from my first wife and nearly had to get out of real estate many times. Moving to Keller Williams and taking advantage of the KW education really saved my career.
