An Inspired Chat with Maury Page of Jackson

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Maury Page. Check out our conversation below.

Maury, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I usually start my day with a run around 5:30 or 6 a.m. After that, I check emails and take care of any minor client website updates. Then I design and schedule social media graphics. Once that’s done, I start working on a new client web design project.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Maury Page. I run Mevo Creative Studios, a web design studio based in Michigan. We build custom websites for businesses across the country with a focus on clean design, customer service, and custom sites that include original photo and video content. We’re currently working on four new projects that we’re really excited about, and we’re always looking for ways to help businesses stand out with a site that feels like them.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My Dad taught me to always work as if nobody was watching and to do everything to the best of my ability. He never cut corners and believed that how you do the small things reflects who you are. Watching him consistently show up, stay steady, and take pride in his work gave me a strong example of what it means to lead with character.

My Grandpa (who we called Papa) owned Kuhl’s Bell Tower, a small-town deli where people came for lunch and conversation. He taught all of his grandkids that there is always work to be done, and I saw that play out every time I was there. Whether he was cleaning tables, restocking supplies, or checking in with customers, he was always moving, always helping, and always focused on providing the best possible experience. Watching him work hard while treating people so well shaped the way I approach both business and customer service today.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me that I can always take one more step, even when everything in me wants to stop. Distance running has pushed me to my limits and shown me that pain doesn’t always mean you’re done. Sometimes it just means you’re getting stronger. That lesson has carried into every part of my life.

In business, there are seasons where things feel heavy. Projects pile up, progress feels slow, and doubts creep in. But pushing through those moments is where the real growth happens.

Success can feel great, but it rarely teaches grit. Suffering is what sharpens it. It reminds me that showing up, especially when it’s hard, is where the real work and reward live.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I think my closest friends would say that God, family, health, and my business really matter to me. I try to live in a way that reflects those values in everything I do. My faith is the foundation that helps guide my choices and keeps me grounded. Family always comes first. Being a good husband and dad is the most important role I have.

Health matters to me because it impacts how I show up in every part of life. Running is one way I stay focused, disciplined, and clear-headed. It is more than just exercise. It helps me process, push through challenges, and stay balanced.

My business is something I care deeply about. It is not just about building websites. It is about helping people succeed, being creative, and building something meaningful that reflects who I am and what I believe in. I hope the people closest to me see those priorities lived out every day.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I know it doesn’t seem like a peaceful time to most people, but I feel most at peace when I’m in the middle of a long run on a beautiful trail and it feels like I’m on cruise control. There’s something about the steady rhythm of my steps, the quiet around me, and the movement itself that helps clear my head. Running gives me space to breathe, think, and let go of the noise so I can come back to everything else with more clarity.
