An Inspired Chat with Becca Beydoun of Wyandotte

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Becca Beydoun. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Becca, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Pilates. It’s the hour I give myself that makes the other 23 feel better and a reminder that showing up consistently, even in small ways, changes everything. Plus I have a new obsession buying cute grip socks!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Becca a nail tech of almost 10 years and the creator of Fruiticle Oil. I share my work (and plenty of real-life moments) on Instagram (@thatnailtechbec) and TikTok. I love making things look and feel good, whether it’s nails, content, or random ideas I’m testing out. My work is a mix of creativity, connection, and a little bit of humor!

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment that really shaped how I see the world was realizing how much control I actually have over my own path. Once I stopped waiting for “permission” or the ‘right’ timing, things started moving in my work and in my life! There’s never going to be a perfect time to start something. I’ve built parts of my career and my brand during total chaos, and it taught me that you don’t need perfect conditions!

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Stop second guessing yourself just because other people don’t see your vision yet. You’re going to make decisions that don’t make sense to everyone , but they don’t need to! You’ve trusted your gut before and it’s led you exactly where you needed to be. Every single time!

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That being booked solid automatically means you’re successful! I’ve seen techs brag about 12 hour days like it’s a badge of honor, but behind the scenes they’re exhausted, resentful, and one bad week away from quitting! I’d rather work smarter, have a client base I love, a schedule I can live with, and still have the time and energy to enjoy my life. Full doesn’t always mean fulfilled.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
People will probably think my life came together easily , like I always had a plan, the right connections, or some kind of help. They might see the business I built, the independence I have, or the way I carry myself and assume it all just “happened” for me. The truth is that most of what I’ve built came from figuring it out as I went, making mistakes, starting over, and pushing through when I didn’t have a safety net. I think that part of my story will get overlooked, but it’s the part that actually defines me the most.
