Hi Madalina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, welcome. My name is Madalina Swan. I’m a holistic esthetician with six years of experience, beginning my journey in cosmetics with Christian Dior before moving into skincare at Moxie Studio. Just under a year ago I had taken the step to open Volimé Esthetics so I could embody my practice as a whole within holistic esthetics. Over the years, I’ve discovered my true passion lies in helping people feel confident in their skin while creating a calming space for them to unwind and reconnect with themselves. My approach goes beyond surface level care. Holistic skincare considers the connection between mind, body, and soul. I believe our skin reflects our internal state. For example, conditions like eczema and psoriasis often stem from deeper emotional roots such as early trauma or chronic stress. Through this lens, skincare becomes a ritual of self-care and healing, encouraging individuals to explore their mental and spiritual well being as part of their skin journey.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think many entrepreneurs can agree that this road is not easy, but can be so rewarding. When I first decided to open, I had people in my ear telling me to continue working for someone else. That I “can’t do this” that “I’m too young to run my own business” (currently im 26) However, I’ve had a huge passion for what I do, and through years of amazing reviews and experiences with my clients, I had faith that I could do this. I’ve definitely had some “learn as I go moments” and I know I’ll probably experience more of that. However, I love to learn, and I believe we can’t stop our desires and dreams because we have certain “limitations”. My knowledge continues to grow each day on how to run this. Life pointed me into this direction. I believe my business chose me just as much as I chose it.

Volimé Esthetics is a holistic esthetics business. Pronounced (vole-uh-may) meaning beloved in the Romani (gypsy) language. I blend holistic wellness with the esthetic industry. This includes holistic remedies, as well as taking a mind body soul approach in helping others achieve their goals.
I specialize in body waxing (Brazilian waxes for woman in particular) as well as brow care (tinting and waxing), lash lift and tinting, and my skincare facial services. I have many more services, however these are the most occurring services I get booked for.
What sets Volimé Esthetics apart is our blended experience of wellness, products, knowledge, and connecting our skin concerns to a full circle approach. Our skincare is much more than what we put on our skin. It really does pull in a mind , body, soul approach when it comes to certain skin concerns. And I love bridging that gap for clients.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
A life of fulfillment can be on the other side of our fears. Of course we need to be thoughtful of our decisions. However, we can not allow the fear of the unknown to hold us back from moving towards our desires. Imagine sitting in your 80s thinking “if I did this, or if I did that.” One of the biggest risks I took was following my dream of leaving the United States and experiencing life abroad. I sold most of my things, left my professional job and took a break from my career to move to Spain as a nanny. I took Spanish classes, made many friends, traveled, lived with my amazing host family, and learned new things each day. I didn’t know anyone or speak Spanish fluently before taking this leap. I was so nervous, but it was the biggest reward to experience my life to the fullest. All because I refused to allow my fear to hold me back from what I desired. Moving solo across the world and having the time of my life is by far one of my favorite memories.
