Exploring Life & Business with Kelly DeLind of Form Physical Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly DeLind.

Kelly DeLind

Hi Kelly, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Kelly Bangsted and I (Kelly DeLind) attended Oakland University’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy program graduating in 2006. We went our separate ways. Kelly B practicing in New York at NYU and myself at DMC in Sterling heights and later at Beaumont Rehabilitation services in Saint Clair Shores. I found my way to Pelvic Health Physical Therapy through a colleague and mentor Jane Frahm, PT. She guided me in the direction of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy. Through my continuing education and becoming pregnant myself as a mother of two I realized the immense need for Pelvic Health Physical Therapy in the Metro Detroit area. Kelly B moved back to Michigan and we began working together at Beaumont Rehabilitation services. We had similar goals of starting a private practice with a focus on orthopedics, treating runners and women’s health / pelvic health issues. We have a small boutique setting that focuses on one on one complete care of our clients.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As always there have been ups and downs. We have learned and grown in our six years of being in business, and making it through covid when we had to close our doors for a couple of months. Our biggest struggle is navigating the ever changing landscape of insurance coverage and lack of coverage for physical therapy services. We work hard to deliver the standard of care we have established for our patients.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Form Physical Therapy is a women owned boutique physical therapy clinic specializing in one on one care with a Physical Therapist. We specialize in pelvic health, women’s health including pregnancy and postpartum care, general orthopedics, runner’s, and performing artists including dancers and skaters. We are most proud of our standards of care. We have four physical therapists at our clinic who specialize in pelvic health and bring a wealth of knowledge to our patients.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The drive to do the best for the client in front of us. Kelly B and I do it all. We schedule clients of all ages from the teenage athlete or dancer to the older person with balance or pelvic health issues, we provide treatment and we bill insurance companies and clients. All while balancing our busy family lives.
