Hi Rose, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I knew early on that the traditional college path wasn’t for me. I was your typical C student who would constantly be drawing instead of taking notes. When people used to ask me the infamous question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I always had the same answer: something that combines working with women and art. Starting a business seemed like my best bet,
By the time I was 20, I was working as a nanny and genuinely happy — but I was itching to create something. I started researching different business ideas, looking for something that felt both creative and purposeful. That’s when I stumbled across spray tanning.
I look back on that moment and still remember how certain I felt — not just hopeful, but undeniably sure. It was the kind of clarity that doesn’t come often. Almost divine. Like something bigger than me had placed the idea right in front of me and said, this is it. And, frankly, I couldn’t believe more people weren’t doing it — especially in Michigan, one of the cloudiest states in the country.
“Bronzed Beauty LLC” was born and I immediately started doing mobile tans, driving from house to house. Within six months, I was booked up and knew I needed a space. I rented a tiny room inside another salon and stayed there for two years. Then came my first solo space — a small office in Bloomfield Hills. In that space,I decided to rebrand and rename so Bronzed Beauty became Dreamed In Tan (DIT)
. In the fall of 2023, I brought one of my biggest business dreams to life: opening and designing my very first storefront. It was by far the most challenging chapter of my journey – filled with decisions I’d never made before and lessons I had to learn quickly- but I’m grateful for it all.
In November I will be celebrating 7 years in business. it’s still just me and one other technician, Sam, and we spray tan as many girls as we can sometimes spraying 50 clients in a day.
There are so many parts of the business that I love, but the relationships I’ve built with my clients over years have been the most rewarding part of it all. I’ve watched women grow up with me — from proms to weddings to pregnancies — and I’m reminded daily that this is about so much more than a spray tan.
I’m endlessly grateful for what Dreamed in Tan has given me. But we’re just getting started. I can’t wait to bring even more light (and tans) to the women who’ve made this dream possible.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Things have come very naturally for me in terms of spraying, marketing and building relationships which I’m so grateful for and only fueled my confidence in DIT, but I’ve definitely had some bumps in the road like anyone else.
Opening up a store front was truly the most challenging part of my journey thus far. It was very fun getting to design everything the way I always envisioned, but I didn’t realize how much truly goes into the process. It’s kind of a blur now, but I remember being very stressed out for about a year.

DIT is a luxury spray tanning studio located in Clawson Mi. We only offer one service- custom, by hand, spray tans. We specialize in bridal tans, body contouring and have perfected the art of a “real” looking spray tan.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
1. Fake it till you make it.
2. Never stop moving. Never stop evolving.
3. Focus on how to stand out and improve instead of copying what someone else is doing.
