Today we’d like to introduce you to Karsyn Judd.

Hi Karsyn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Karsyn. I am registered nurse and portrait photographer! My passion for photography began back in 9th grade when I got my first iPhone. I remember people telling me, “You don’t have to document everything,” but I genuinely loved practicing the art of noticing the little moments.

Seven years ago, I bought my first “real” camera, and I’ve been behind the camera ever since. I specialize in capturing high school seniors, couples, families, and special events. Photography has become such a meaningful part of my life, and I’m so excited to continue doing what I love!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of my biggest challenges has been marketing myself. Putting myself out there can feel intimidating, but I’ve learned to enjoy the process. I love using social media to connect with people. it’s a fun challenge to figure out what strategies really work.

I’ve also had some tough lessons along the way. During one shoot, my camera completely stopped working! And I didn’t have my backup with me. Safe to say, I never show up without two cameras!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in portrait photography. I pride myself in being flexible during shoots and working with my clients to create the vibe they’re going for. I find this to be a more rewarding approach and it’s a fun way to collaborate. Whether it’s the editing or shooting style, I am always willing to try something new and meet my clients in the middle.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is happiness. So I feel pretty successful.
