Life & Work with Lorraine of Dearborn, MI

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorraine.

Hi Lorraine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
There’s something magical about a well-designed space—when every detail feels intentional, every corner tells a story. That belief is what led me to create LN Interiors, a boutique studio rooted in soulful design and elevated aesthetics. From the start, I took on every role—designer, project manager, creative director—building a brand known for transforming everyday spaces into meaningful experiences.

Though I was born in the U.S., I was raised in Kuwait and proudly carry my Lebanese heritage with me. That cultural richness is the foundation of my work—blending timeless elegance with modern edge. At 17, I returned to the U.S. to pursue my degree in Fine Arts–Interior Design from Wayne State University, determined to carve my own path in the design world.

What began as intimate residential projects soon evolved into full-scale commercial interiors. I found my niche in hospitality design, particularly in restaurants and coffee shops—spaces meant to be lived in, gathered in, and remembered. In just one year, I completed over 20 café designs, each one a reflection of intention, identity, and craft.

Today, LN Interiors stands as a reflection of that journey—where bold ideas meet refined execution, and every project is a story waiting to be told.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey definitely had its challenges, but each step taught me something valuable. Starting LN Interiors on my own meant learning how to balance the creative with the business side—managing clients, timelines, and expectations while staying true to my design vision.

There were moments of uncertainty, especially early on, when I was still finding my voice as a designer. At times, I had to navigate demanding projects, tight deadlines, or the pressure of wearing multiple hats. But those experiences helped me grow—not just professionally, but personally.

I wouldn’t call the road smooth, but I’ve learned to embrace the process. Every challenge became a lesson, and every project shaped the way I approach design today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At LN Interiors, I focus on commercial interior design—primarily cafés, restaurants, and boutique wellness spaces. My approach is rooted in storytelling, creating spaces that not only look beautiful but also feel deeply intentional and aligned with the brand’s identity.

What sets my work apart is the blend of cultural influence, refined materials, and a strong sense of purpose behind every detail. I’m known for designs that feel elevated yet approachable, modern yet full of warmth.

I’m especially proud of seeing my clients’ spaces thrive—when a concept goes from sketches to a space people genuinely connect with. That moment when a client walks in and says, “This feels like me”—that’s the milestone I never stop striving for.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’d just say—never underestimate the power of your environment. The spaces we spend time in shape how we feel, think, and connect. Whether it’s a cozy café or a wellness retreat, intentional design can inspire so much more than aesthetics.

And to anyone chasing a creative path: trust your vision, stay curious, and don’t be afraid to carve your own lane. That’s where the magic happens.
