Meet Emily Stewart of Saint Clair Shores, Michigan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Stewart.

Hi Emily, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hello, I am absolutely honored to be asked by you for an interview, and I thank you for asking. I started-off in college wanting to be a lawyer. I knew in high school that I wanted to be a lawyer. However, my track has changed. I got very, very sick several times during college and I now have a great appreciation and respect for the health care professions because of the lifesaving work that they do. I have developed a strong liking of science. I am now wanting to go into Criminology. I want to do a Master of Science (M.S.) in Criminology & Criminal Justice. I have myself been violated by crime. I understand the stings of crime and I understand how it feels to be a victim of crime because I myself have been a crime victim. I want to help others during their anguish with crime. I hope that through my work prosecuting crime that our society may become safer.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. I have taken many, many strikes along my path. However, I have fought back against these strikes, and I hope to be perceived-of as the winner. I want to be a winner in life, which is why I fight to win. The strikes against me have been disrespectful, but I have fought them. I retain my goals to achieve my profession, and I believe that I will achieve it. I believe in being strong.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work is loving. I specialize in fighting for justice. I am known for my persistence in fighting back. I have a reputation for fighting back. I believe in fighting back. I would not be as strong as I am today if it were not for my choices to fight back. Fighting back against the wrongs and injustices thrust against me have been some of the best decisions that I have made. I continue to fight back. I am proud that I have fought back. I am very proud of myself. What sets me apart from others is my fighting streak. Thank you.

What makes you happy?
Working makes me happy. My family makes me happy. My faith makes me happy. The beautiful outdoors makes me happy. Victory makes me happy. Health makes me happy. Cleanliness makes me happy. Being smart makes me happy. I am made happy by these things because I find joy in these.
