Today we’d like to introduce you to Tonya Rocho.
Hi Tonya, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey into health and wellness didn’t begin because I had it all figured out—it began because I lived through the struggle myself. For years, I was caught up in the fads and trends of the weight loss and exercise industry. If there was a new diet, a new workout, or a “quick fix,” I was chasing it. I thought I was doing the right thing, but instead, I was unknowingly causing serious damage to my body.
At my heaviest, I weighed 286 pounds. I was exhausted, frustrated, and broken—physically, mentally, and emotionally. It wasn’t until I hit rock bottom that I realized the industry wasn’t really helping people heal. It was keeping them trapped in a cycle. I finally understood: real transformation doesn’t start with extreme workouts or restrictive diets. It starts with healing.
That realization set me on a completely different path. I dedicated myself to learning how the body truly works—how to restore it from the inside out by focusing on proper movement, body awareness, nervous system health, and nutrition designed to support healing rather than punishment.
Out of that personal transformation, Rock Solid Wellness Studio was born. I built it to be everything I wish I had when I was struggling: a private, personalized space where people can reconnect with their bodies, heal, and build sustainable health and strength.
Today, I’m honored to help others who refuse to settle for “this is as good as it gets.” My greatest reward is seeing people walk into my studio feeling hopeless and walk out feeling strong, empowered, and alive again.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—and looking back, I realize the struggles were the very things that shaped who I am today and how I run Rock Solid Wellness Studio.
One of the biggest challenges was unlearning everything I thought I knew. After years of chasing diets, extreme workouts, and the “no pain, no gain” mentality, it was hard to slow down, listen to my body, and trust a new approach. Healing required patience, persistence, and a willingness to question the mainstream fitness and health narratives.
Starting my own business came with its own set of hurdles too. I wasn’t just creating a studio—I was creating an entirely different philosophy in a world that often promotes quick fixes. It was challenging at first to find clients who understood that healing and sustainable results take time, not shortcuts. Building trust with my community and educating people about a different path took a lot of perseverance.
There were also practical challenges: balancing the financial realities of running a private studio, constantly learning and evolving, and navigating the inevitable ups and downs of entrepreneurship. But every obstacle taught me something valuable—and every success story from a client reminds me why the hard road was worth it.
I believe the struggle is what gives my work depth. It’s why I can sit across from someone who feels broken, overwhelmed, and defeated—and genuinely say, “I understand. And you can heal.”
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Rock Solid Wellness Studio, I do things differently—and intentionally so. I am not a gym, I am not a clinic, and I am not chasing trends. I am a private wellness studio focused on restoring the body, not just pushing it harder. Everything I offer is built on the belief that healing comes first, and that true strength begins with connection—connection to your inner body, your breath, your mind, and your life.
I specialize in corrective exercise, integrative movement, nervous system regulation, and personalized nutrition coaching. But what really sets me apart is how I blend these tools with advanced therapies like PEMF, halotherapy, infrared sauna, and mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy—offered through carefully structured programs that actually meet people where they are.
My clients aren’t just looking for another workout—they’re people who’ve been ignored, misled, or told to “just deal with it.” They’re in pain. They’ve tried the fads. They’re tired of band-aid fixes. What I provide is education, guidance, and hands-on support that restores their function, renews their strength, and gives them their life back.
What I am most known for is being the place people come to when nothing else has worked. I listen, I assess, and I teach people how to move, fuel, and live in a way that supports healing—so the results actually last. That’s the magic behind our approach.
Brand-wise, I’m proud that Rock Solid Wellness has never compromised its mission for the sake of trends or popularity. I stay true to the message: Your body is not broken. It just needs the right kind of attention to heal.
Whether it’s through a one-on-one session, a nutrition plan, or a wellness membership, my goal is the same—help you reconnect with your body, restore your health, and build strength from the inside out.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I don’t really rely on specific apps, books, or podcasts—I’ve always been more of a hands-on learner. My best resources are real people, real experiences, and the constant evolution of my own practice. I stay up to date by diving into the latest research on health, movement, chronic pain, and alternative therapies, and then testing and applying what actually works in the real world with my clients.
I believe in being a student for life—always learning, always refining. That mindset is what allows me to stay ahead of the trends and focus on what truly delivers long-term results. My clients aren’t looking for gimmicks—they’re looking for solutions. So my responsibility is to keep learning, stay curious, and never stop challenging what the wellness industry tells us is “normal.”
