Hi Gina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Luna Rose Candle Co. was born from a major shift in my life. After working a job that brought me no joy for over 12 years, losing my mom in 2016 made me realize just how short and precious life really is. I knew I wanted to create something that made me truly happy and fueled my creative energy.
My love for candles and all things that smell good inspired me to start making my own — especially after learning how toxic many big box store candles are. I decided to craft candles with clean fragrance, eco-friendly wax, and safer ingredients so I could feel good about every product I made.
Luna Rose is a piece of my heart, built on the belief that what we bring into our homes should be beautiful, intentional, and nurturing.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road — but every challenge has helped shape Luna Rose into what it is today. In the beginning, I had no background in running a business, so learning how to manage everything from production to marketing to finances was overwhelming at times. There were moments of self-doubt, especially when things were slow or when I compared myself to bigger brands.
Balancing creative passion with the realities of running a business was another big challenge — staying true to my vision while also learning how to grow and be strategic.
But through it all, my love for what I do, the support from amazing friends, family and customers, and the reminder of why I started in the first place kept me going. The struggles have made the wins that much more meaningful.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Luna Rose Candle Co., I pour a lot more than just wax — I pour my heart, energy, and intentions into every candle. I started Luna Rose because I wanted to create something meaningful after realizing how short and precious life is.
I specialize in small-batch, handcrafted candles made with clean ingredients — eco-friendly wax, clean fragrance oils, and a lot of care. I want people to not only enjoy a beautiful scent but also feel a sense of peace, comfort, and connection when they light one of my candles.
What I’m most proud of is how deeply personal this journey has been. Every candle tells a story and holds energy meant to support others in their own daily rituals.
What sets Luna Rose apart is the love, intention, and mindfulness infused into every single piece — it’s not just about how it smells, but how it makes you feel.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest advice for anyone just starting out is to trust yourself and stay connected to why you started in the first place. It’s easy to get overwhelmed or compare yourself to others, especially in the early stages, but remember that growth takes time and your journey is unique.
I wish I knew that it’s okay not to have everything figured out right away — you learn so much by doing. Progress over perfection is key.
