Check Out Mike Clark’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Clark

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It looks late 70s and I was a kid and I two older brothers took me out to a high school party when I walked through the door. The first I heard it was rapture by Blondie. I looked at the statics of the place. It was floored place look very beautiful, white beans, real great statics, and the music like something I never heard before. I heard some of it on the radio station on which was our disco station. But that was my first time actually going somewhere and that place was set for that. By the end of the night, I was hooked and knew I could do this forever. I eventually wanted to become a DJ as I saw the music being played in a person playing the music set to tone for the place. I want to be that guy I became a DJ. I had a vision, the visions to be one of the best DJs in the world, even though the global DJ was not born or developed yet I was just fascinated about the whole thing and I was so young and now that I’ve done it and every facet and way from playing around the world to producing and make a record that hit number one for months I have to count my blessings because it was my choice to do this and of all the things that I’ve done in life. This is the one thing that I’m sure was meant to be spiritual standpoint. I believe it was what some people will call got calling and I listened And I gave into that and that carried me to where I’m at today my dream of who I am came before if you became a celebrity situation, I was very happy to be able to play my music and support myself and doing so it’s a joy extra to see the world by doing this that would’ve never registered that game when I first started and now that it became such a international thing, I couldn’t ask for a better job

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It looks like a smooth road on paper as far as where I went, and what I was doing and the steps that eventually lit to where I’m at now from the high school dances to the parties to the clubs to the out of town and other side of the world gigs There have been many obstacles and challenges people who will go out of their way to try to stop you and your dreams and sometimes life itself can put things in front of you. I can totally change what you were doing from one minute to the next. So my earliest issues were people who would try to interfere with what I’m doing our earliest encounters were in high school when my friends who dj with would play with me behind my back and around me while I was DJing to distract me, but it may be even harder because I was more important for me to get my point across than to be upset because somebody’s waving the hands around me or talking in my ear or whatever And then I became more focused and started to make a name for myself. I realize that there were folks who try to stop you from your goals. Can’t explain why but they just do my first most memorable setback was Dj a radio show contest and as I’ve gotten older and spoke to some of the people That were involved I discovered that the contest was set for someone else to win and I came in and upset that situation and because of that I was set up for failure and was not able to operate my equipment live on stage at the Fox theater for everyone instead of People hearing my cry for help or even understanding what it happened The people ignored it and said it was stage fright, even though my equipment was sabotaged that was my first learning lesson. and there were different bumps in the road coming up, dealing with people who I consider mentors and big brothers. I gave them high claim only to realize it was a mistake because instead of looking at me a person who appreciate them, they used me only to make them look good, and I was ruined my career in the process created a group that reached international status only for one of the people in the group to break away in the middle of it and somehow tarnished my name and all my work that I did through the years and as a result my international gigs weren’t happening anymore and the people I worked with locally weren’t working with me as much as they were working with my partners which actually sent me into a depression as I put all my time and energy into these people instead of myself, and I lost part of that to this day, I still deal with the trauma of having to start all over from scratch. I let it get the best of me in the past but eventually, I was able to not look at that and just start all over again from the ground up with the new generation , I met the new generation and they accepted me and embraced me as I embraced them and I was able to start from DJ shows that were happening during Covid to spinning at clubs again and even though I’ve had very successful club events and club nights I haven’t had to pull off what I did before I do have a team that I work with now that I’m very happy and proud to be with their great group of people and there is no jealousy or issues of trying to take over or run what we’re building and I’m very blessed to have that because the past those were the reasons of the break ups in general

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have a DJ and a producer, as well as an artist I do several things. I was a hair cosmetologist and a salon for a few decades and I still do hear from time to time. I’m also a martial artist I’ve been studying since before I started DJing practice mini styles from taekwondo Kung fu, African style martial arts, boxing, etc. I have accomplished and all the above fields as I have a latch with all of my trophies, have three lifetime achievement, awards producer of the year awards of the year awards a few martial art trophies, fighting, and forms also proud to have helped create a style with two other masters, that is being practiced to this day, On the musical end, I specialize in house, music, funk, disco techno. I’m a turntablist My early years as a DJ I was in many contest and won most of them! I pay very specific attention to details and try to make sure that my techniques are always at his best. I can always measure by the compliments I get after my show in front of production I’m known for making funky energetic happy tracks which as we speak one is charting For the past several months it did so well that the record sold out within two weeks and just restocked. It’s called house club. The thing that I most proud of is the fact that I’m still here still making a difference still working hard. And even though I’ve had my setbacks, I was starting to see my new career takeoff.. naval to say what Sesame part from everyone else realistically is the fact that when I first started, I was by myself when no one was traveling I went to Chicago with my dj partner to visit her cousin, and that was my first time meeting fellow DJs introduced me to another person in New York and I was invited to go to New York and my journey began when I did these none of this music scene that we had was going on so I can honestly say was Sesame apart from everyone else I was the first and I saw so many things that become, which is history now I think that is apart from everyone I can tell you how you can techno begin among other things
