Being a female DJ in the male-dominated music industry comes with its unique set of challenges and struggles. Female DJs often face discrimination, lack of opportunities, and stereotypes that can hinder their growth and success in the industry. Despite the increasing number of women entering the DJ scene, they still have to work twice as hard to prove themselves and earn the same level of respect as their male counterparts.

One of the main struggles that female DJs face is the widespread belief that women are not as skilled or knowledgeable when it comes to music selection and mixing. This stereotype can lead to being underestimated and overlooked, making it difficult for female DJs to book gigs or get the recognition they deserve. Additionally, women in the industry often have to deal with harassment and sexism, both from colleagues and audience members, which can be emotionally taxing and demoralizing.

Another challenge for female DJs is the lack of representation and visibility in the industry. Mainstream music events and festivals tend to have a predominantly male lineup, further marginalizing women and making it harder for them to break into the scene. This lack of representation can also impact sponsorship opportunities, as brands may be more inclined to invest in male DJs who are seen as more marketable.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Have you ever had a moment in your life that completely changed the course of your future? For me, that moment was when I received my first set of DJ decks from my dad. It was a simple gift, but it had a profound impact on my life and set me on the path to becoming a DJ and producer.

I had always been passionate about music, especially electronic and dance music from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. My father, who owned a nightclub and event space, exposed me to this genre at a very young age. Growing up in Detroit, the birthplace of Techno, further shaped my music taste and style as a DJ.

I immersed myself in the world of music production, learning how to create my own tracks and remixes. The more I practiced and performed, the more my love for music grew.I started experimenting with different genres and styles, incorporating elements of Detroit Techno into my sets. My unique sound and eclectic music selection set me apart as a DJ, and soon I was booking gigs at clubs and festivals around the US.
