Rising Stars: Meet Victoria Ahumada of Grand Rapids

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Ahumada.

Hi Victoria, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always been a jack of trades, whatever it is I know I can do it, from doing makeup and being a self taught artist to finally getting my dream job at Sephora & to trying/making trends and starting up my own side hussle, a little sweets business called EV Sweets (candied fruit)

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Covid definitely changed the world a bit but everything became accessible online and it was definitely a time to get creative so during this time I created makeup looks and started my Instagram journey.
I was never really good at posting stuff out of fear I wouldn’t be good enough but strangers sometimes can be great supporters
I also got pregnant in 2022 and had to pushed aside my makeup. But it wasn’t til later I started my sweets business named after my daughter which again came from viral videos on Tik tok/Instagram

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m known for always having a full face of makeup, hopping on trends, my viral candied fruits and being a mother
I love my creative nature, I’m always looking to do something whether in my makeup or business or personal life
I got my dream job at Sephora which I currently love so I haven’t had a lot of time for making my sweets but I’ve been able to do creative makeup looks which I love to do

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
My anxiety and indecision has held me back from doing things I’d love to do.
And risks come with getting older you never know what will come unless you do it. Having my little business, I’ve loved doing pop up shops and those are always so nerve wracking because you never know if you’ll sell out or go home with everything so you have to take that risk and do it, make deals, do the promotions and marketing to make it together
