Conversations with Jaclyn Krizanic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaclyn Krizanic

Hi Jaclyn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been interested in the arts. I found myself at an interesting cross road when I had a health scare and that somehow lead me back into my creative path and found love for the fiber arts. I have always dreamt of prusing a creative path but felt unsure. You can read more on my story here: https://voyagemichigan.com/interview/meet-jaclyn-krizanic-of-metro-detroit-mi/

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Obstacles? Of course! Hard times are inevitable. But one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned recently is how much artists can get in their own way. It can feel hard to stand out in what feels like an oversaturated creative space. Some might say there are already too many artists, crochet business owners, or artists posting to social media—but there are also hundreds of thousands of doctors, lawyers, and engineers. The biggest struggle often isn’t the competition; it’s allowing the opinions of others to dictate how you should live your life. That has been the biggest obstacle for me, and I am so glad to have pushed through that wall and live life on my own terms.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I like to call myself a multi-creative—no single title can capture everything I do. I work as a digital marketing freelancer and video editor, but I’m also an artist in both wearable and visual forms. From charcoal sketches to digital illustrations, and from crochet blankets to handmade sweaters, I love bringing ideas to life through different mediums. One of my proudest accomplishments is launching my Etsy shop, and pursuing freelance digital marketing. I believe my diverse creative skill set truly sets me apart from others in the creative space. I love the flexibility and ability to get multiple backgrounds of experiences in the freelance realm. I offer services that if anyone reading this thinks they may need some social media help, can check out my menu of creative services at jaclynkrizanic.com/services

How do you define success?
How do I define success? Well, success is a deeply personal concept that varies from person to person. It’s not just about wealth, status, or recognition—it’s about growth, purpose, and aligning your life with what truly matters to you. For some, success means financial stability; for others, it’s creative freedom, making a difference, or simply finding joy in everyday life. But above all, I believe success is recognizing not just the greatness in others, but also in yourself—or at the very least, understanding the path to get there.
