Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Tasker
Hi Jenna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
There’s something almost magical about the way life unfolds when we trust in the whispers of possibility. When I first stepped into the world of healing work, I never imagined I’d one day create spaces where many would come together to heal, learn, and grow.
I started small—a simple 1,000 sq. ft. building with three rooms. At that time, I felt like I had made it. I loved my little space and truly believed I would be there for years to come.
But the universe had other plans.
When the owners decided to sell the building, I fought to stay. I tried everything—financing, creative solutions—anything to make it work. But no matter how hard I tried, the doors simply wouldn’t open. Looking back, I realize now that it wasn’t rejection; it was redirection. Letting go of that space led me to the one that would become CenterPeace Farmington.
The first time I walked in, it was nothing like the vision I now hold so dear. It was a broken-down office space with cubicles, stained carpet, and a backyard filled with waist-high weeds—and a family of wild turkeys who had made it their home. But when I looked past all of that, I saw something no one else could see. I saw light pouring in through the floor-to-ceiling windows. I saw warmth, community, healing. I saw what could be.
So I took the leap.
I signed the lease and immediately started renovations—tearing down walls, pulling up carpet, repainting, installing new flooring, and completely transforming the backyard.
At first, the vision was simple: a space for my clients, maybe a few classes and workshops. But something magical happened when I opened the doors—people felt something. They connected with the energy of the space, and before long, they started asking to rent it for their own classes and events. Initially, I said yes on occasion, not thinking much of it. Then the demand grew.
And then the pandemic hit.
The business next door vacated, and an opportunity presented itself. I had another vision of growth and expansion. I saw the potential for something even greater, something that could serve more people and create a bigger impact.
So, I took another leap—this time doubling our space to 3,000 sq. ft.
That expansion became the turning point. Suddenly, CenterPeace wasn’t just a place for me and my clients; it was a community. We welcomed other practitioners, expanded our workshops and events, and continued growing. Soon, we built a website, opened up for private events, and added a 17-ft deck and fire pit for outdoor gatherings. Our summer events grew, with over 100 people gathering beneath the stars for concerts like Dixon’s Violin, who now plays with us annually.
What had started as a small healing space had become something much bigger—a sanctuary.
Then came Troy.
Just over two years ago, I met Dr. Lawrence Bell, a chiropractor who came highly recommended by a mutual friend. We quickly connected over our shared passion for healing, community, and even a love for Costa Rica.
After working with him for a short time, his lease was expiring, and he was looking for a new office. One day, he casually mentioned, “Jenna, maybe you should open a second CenterPeace in Troy.” I laughed it off. Until another mutual friend suggested the same thing.
And then something inside me clicked.
As someone who creates through vision, I knew I had to follow the thread. I started looking at spaces, and one building stood out above all the rest. I joke that one of my superpowers is knowing when it comes to space and design—if I can see it in my mind’s eye, I can make it happen. And the moment I stepped into what is now CenterPeace Troy, I could see it.
But getting there wasn’t easy.
The space was perfect—though on paper, the odds were stacked against me. It was twice the size of Farmington, and as a small business, owned and run by a single woman, coming out of COVID with two major renovations under my belt, I didn’t exactly fit the ideal profile for a lease of this scale. The owners were hesitant, and at first, they turned me down.
But one thing about me? If I believe in something, I don’t give up.
I kept seeing the space in my mind. I would sit in the parking lot, staring at the empty building, knowing it would be ours. I even took photos and superimposed the CenterPeace logo onto the sign—believing, with every fiber of my being, that this was meant to be.
And then, piece by piece, things started falling into place.
It wasn’t just me pushing this dream forward. By the time we signed the lease in March 2023, it had become clear that this wasn’t just my vision anymore—it was something that resonated with so many others. And when it came time to transform the space, it truly took a community to make it happen.
I had people who saw the vision just as I did—who believed in what we were creating and how it could serve not just them, but everyone who stepped into CenterPeace. They showed up. They pulled up carpet, painted walls, helped with renovations, and supported me in ways I will forever be grateful for.
This was no small undertaking—6,000 sq. ft. of transformation—but the people who came together to make it happen gave so much of themselves to bring it to life.
On August 13, 2023, CenterPeace Troy officially opened its doors.
This journey was never the plan, but it has become something more beautiful than I ever could have imagined.
CenterPeace is more than just a healing center—it is a sanctuary, a space for transformation, and a true home for those seeking healing, connection, and community.
It is a place where people are met exactly as they are, without expectations or judgment. A place where healing happens in ways we can’t always explain, and where magic unfolds daily in the most unexpected ways.
For me, this has been more than a business—it has been a journey of resilience, faith, and deep gratitude.
There have been struggles, doubts, and exhaustion, but every single day, I am reminded why this work matters. Because at the heart of it all, CenterPeace is not just mine—it belongs to everyone who finds solace, healing, and inspiration here.
It is my family.
And we are only just getting started.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Opening CenterPeace has been a beautiful, humbling, and challenging journey. What began as a small healing space has grown into two thriving centers, each presenting unique challenges and lessons.
Starting any small business requires deep trust—not just in the venture, but in oneself. Doubt, fear, and overwhelming choices are constants, but a stronger belief and faith must carry you through uncertain paths.
Opening CenterPeace Farmington differed greatly from launching CenterPeace Troy. Farmington provided a foundation to build upon, with growth feeling organic. Renovations were significant yet manageable. Even when we expanded, doubling in size, it felt like a natural evolution.
Troy was different. It wasn’t just an expansion—it was a leap into something far bigger than I had ever imagined. A 6,000-square-foot space needed complete transformation, a massive financial undertaking, and the daunting reality of starting over in a new city with no guarantee people would come. Troy required an entirely new level of trust, faith, and resilience.
Then came the floods. Two days before our grand opening, Troy flooded. We had prepared every detail, poured our hearts into the space, and yet, just before opening, this challenge literally rose from beneath us. Instead of postponing, we moved forward. We packed the fans and dehumidifiers into a back room, welcomed our guests, and as many of us walked barefoot through the space, our feet were wet from the water beneath the new flooring. Days later, a second flood hit. Then, just 10 days later, the most devastating flood yet. On August 23rd, a superstorm poured water into the space, undoing much of what we had built. Each time, we cleaned up, rebuilt, and kept moving forward.
There were moments of exhaustion, frustration, and doubt. But every time I questioned if we could keep going, people showed up. Practitioners, friends, clients—a true community—not just offering words of encouragement, but stepping in. They pulled up damaged flooring, repainted walls, and helped put the space back together—not because they had to, but because they believed in what we were building. And that’s when I understood something deeper: CenterPeace was never just my vision. It was theirs, too.
Belief in oneself and one’s business can only carry you so far. It’s the people who stand beside you, who share the vision, who remind you why you started, that make the difference. For me, it has always been about them. The practitioners, the healers, the clients—they inspire me to keep going. They don’t just come to teach or heal; they show up to support, to lift, to create alongside me. When I felt overwhelmed, they reminded me why this space was needed. When things fell apart, they helped rebuild—physically, emotionally, and energetically.
CenterPeace exists because of them. Their belief, trust, and willingness to build this dream alongside me have shaped it into what it is today. Every day, they teach me what it truly means to run a small business—not just with vision and leadership, but with heart, collaboration, and shared purpose.
I’ve always believed that when you love what you do, it doesn’t feel like work. That belief has been tested time and again—through long hours, endless details, and daily challenges. Yes, there have been moments of doubt, where exhaustion took over, and I questioned if we could keep going. But today, we are stronger and more resolved than ever. This community, this vision, these spaces—we are still growing, evolving, and creating something extraordinary.
Through every obstacle, we’ve emerged more resilient, more connected, and more committed to our mission. The road hasn’t been smooth, but it’s been worth every step.

What does success mean to you?
For me, success isn’t measured by, profit margins, or the number of locations we have. It’s in the moments when someone walks into CenterPeace and says, “I feel like I belong here.”
It’s in the way people exhale upon entering, realizing they’ve found a community that sees, holds, and celebrates them. It’s in the lingering conversations after a class, the quiet moments in meditation or breathwork, and the tears that fall during a sound healing when someone finally feels safe enough to let go.
It’s witnessing a first-time visitor step into a Cacao Circle or Reiki share and realize that healing is possible for them. It’s watching practitioners grow—seeing someone take their first step as a healer, stepping into their calling with confidence, knowing they have a space that supports them.
Success is the ripple effect. When one person heals, that healing spreads to their families, communities, and the world. CenterPeace is more than a business; it is a place of transformation, connection, and belonging.
When someone finds CenterPeace, they don’t just find a class or a service—they find a home. A place where they can be exactly who they are, with no expectations, no judgment—just acceptance, support, and healing.
Success is seeing that happen every single day. It’s the people, the moments, the impact. And if CenterPeace can be even a small part of someone’s journey toward healing, growth, or self-discovery, then we have already succeeded.
Because true success isn’t just about what we create—it’s about what we help others to experience, to become, and to believe in.
