Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Keegstra

Hi Katie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My passion for weddings began in high school when I worked at a local bridal shop. While I was uncertain about my career path after graduation, my experience at the shop sparked my interest in wedding planning. To pursue this passion, I enrolled in Lovegevity’s Wedding and Event Planning Masterclass, where I earned my certification.

Following my certification, I gained hands-on experience working at two wedding venues in West Michigan. After much prayer and reflection, I felt called to take the next step and officially launch my own wedding planning business. With a deep appreciation for event design, I also expanded my services to include a curated rental collection alongside my planning and coordination offerings.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey has been largely smooth, thanks to the incredible support I’ve received from my family and friends while launching my business. Their encouragement and knowledge have played a significant role in my success and growth.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I founded Beloved Events and Rentals with the goal of alleviating stress for couples and their families on their wedding day. A wedding planner or coordinator does far more than simply organize the day—we handle preparations well in advance, coordinate with vendors, assist with décor decisions, and help navigate the emotions that arise before and during the wedding.

When creating my rental collection, I wanted to eliminate the need for couples to store large amounts of décor in their homes leading up to the wedding—what many call the “wedding room.” My goal was to provide a solution that prevents couples from having to transport, store, and later resell their décor.

I take the most pride in what we stand for as a business: compassion, empathy, and a deep understanding of each couple’s vision. We recognize the emotions that come with wedding planning and are dedicated to supporting our clients every step of the way.

At Beloved Events and Rentals, we offer three wedding planning and coordination packages, along with an extensive rental catalog. Our rental items are available to all clients—you do not need to book coordination services with us to rent from our collection. We are continually expanding our inventory to better serve couples as they bring their dream weddings to life.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory was the summers with my sister, Megan, and brother, Aaron! We would bike downtown and go to the candy store or bakery and come back to play by the pool! I will never forget the countless summers we spent together.
