Today we’d like to introduce you to Hunter Meggison

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started working in the event field 12 years ago as a Junior in High school. Military has been a big thing in my family for as long as I can remember. My father, Paul Meggison who is Co- owner of this business as well was enlisted in the Marine corps for 20+ years. Followed by my oldest brother Landon who served in the Air Force for 5+ years. I did 3.5 years in the Army national guard straight out of high school as a 91B Wheeled vehicle mechanic. Four years later I took a job offer out in Maryland to work for another Tent rental business. This was very short, as my Fiancé’s father Kevin passed away from stage 4 cancer. We immediately packed our things and came straight home with one plan and one plan only and that was to make it happen… We launched Meggison Tents & Events in 2020 the year Covid had hit and many small businesses couldn’t survive. We never expected things to happen so fast for us, but turn the page 4 years later and we have an amazing crew installing 3-4 large events a weekend. We are very proud of what we have accomplished.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Owing your own business is never a smooth road. You have obstacles thrown at you daily, but the most important thing I’ve learned is to keep showing up. Covid-19 was one of our biggest obstacles we had to overcome. But with us being an outdoor service, we were able to still maintain our job with limits.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a indoor / outdoor event rental service. We provide top of the line Tents, Tables, Chairs, Bars, Dance floor’s, Staging & more! We are known for keeping all of our equipment very clean, and our crew is very professional and knowledgeable in their field. We want our readers to know if they ever have a wedding and/or event in 65 mile radius of Traverse City, MI we have you taken care of.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My parents Cindy Meggison and Paul Meggison. They have always been a role model to me and have guided me to be the young man I am today. My father Paul, is also co owner of this business.

My brother Austin Meggison, he has been a huge help starting this business and without him we would not be where we are today.

My Fiancé, Tiffany Raney for being the best mother to our child Ryker while I’m constantly working during busy season. Not only that, she helps install jobs with us when she is able to.
