Today we’d like to introduce you to Grady Thompson

Hi Grady, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When I was a sophomore in high school my neighbor gave me an old camera. I became obsessed, I started learning everything I could and practiced all the time. I started taking pictures at my high school sports games. I’d ask athletes if they wanted some pictures, over time I was a little more known and I was able to charge some money. Later, around senior year, I started a social media marketing company with my partner Elliot. It has been amazing because I can do photography and videography while still building this company. Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The most confusing thing for me was figuring out where to find clients. As I became known as a photographer, people would ask me for pictures, but it wasn’t till we talked to Elliot’s dad that things really started going up. Elliot’s dad Travis owns a business, and when me and Elliot made E&G Media Growth, we instantly went to him. He taught us the basics of running a business. But a lot of it is also trial and error. You learn so much more from failure than you do from success.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
E&G was founded by me and my partner Elliot. I specialize in photography and videography while Elliot specializes in graphic design. We do everything from social media posts, to full blown commercials. Ultimately we help businesses stay relevant, and expand their outreach. This business was the best choice for us because our generation grew up with iPads in our hands. We understand algorithms and trends.

What makes you happy?
I love giving. When I make it in life I want to bless the people I love. I want to retire my dad, I want to travel with people close to me. It is a goal of mine to see as much of this world as possible before I die. But ultimately, you can only get happiness/peace from Jesus. He loves you and can give all stresses to Him.
