Meet Becca Lamar of Studio Neue

Today we’d like to introduce you to Becca Lamar

Hi Becca, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In 2020 I started my company Heylo Creative, which lead me to networking with a lot of small business owners in the Metro Detroit area. I continuously heard people saying things like “I wish I had my own space” or “I want to host an event for my business”. I visited a business that gave me an idea for Studio Neue being an accessible, all purpose space. We chose the name Studio Neue because the people and ideas are constantly new to the space, while having a nod to the creative design industry with the spelling. Today, we have hosted photo shoots, content days, birthday parties, bridal/baby showers, book launch, podcasts, client appreciation events, headshot happy hours, co-working space, off-site team meetings, day retreats, soundbaths, yoga, vendor markets, and so much more.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Honestly, we have been really lucky with our customers. I believe a lot of that comes from previous business experience, and constantly being open to hearing how we can better serve our customers. There are always learning experiences and we strive to be better everyday with our service and processes.

We’ve been impressed with Studio Neue , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Studio Neue is a venue built as a blank canvas to help bring your photography, business, and event visions to life. Located on Starkweather between Old Village and Downtown Plymouth, our space is ready to host your next workshop, meeting, bridal shower, birthday party – the sky is the limit! The studio offers 1,000 SF for you to curate the perfect space.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
So many, and one that stands out the most is our annual family summer party. Every summer my parents hosted close to 100 of their friends and family at our home. My family also owned a restaurant, so there were a lot of times large groups gathered to celebrate just about anything. I think this is where my love of building community comes from.
